No. The is better. ;) Who am I to argue about this character ? I really don't know him that well. As someone who does not follow the character he looks like he wants me to come over so he can tickle me.... granted in the most evil way possible. It's why I like the reg head as it is more menacing. But I know the Character well enough to know that he smiles a lot. So I can see why it would be a must. I just don't think this is ex or fail for those that missed out on the Ex...... unless you are concerned with value..... then it is ex or fail.

Good Post Jaws! Totally agree with you

It will still be limited to how many people own this piece in the world so who cares 7 billion people in the world millions of Thanos fans and some hard core ones, some that don't even know that sideshow exist and might not until years from now just to see an amazing Thanos piece was released years ago and sold out lol. Even if it were 2,000 regular think about that only 2,000 out of 7 billion have that statue! I'm happy with the regular edition now would I have preferred the Ex of course but hey you win some and lose some I go through this type of pain with everything from comic variants to shoe releases it's part of the game you win or lose, at least in this particular case I can still get a statue just with an add on missing if it were shoes and they sold out then I get nothing. Plus we have the luck that there is other skilled artist out there willing to do extra pieces like heads and nobody will say hey that head isn't original to that statue but back to the shoes there is no person who could replicate the exact shoe I want and not have someone tell me I have a knock off lol. So I say congratulations to both parties the EX and the regulars we own something that a very small amount of people in this world will own. Be thankful we can even afford this hobby that means most of use are blessed with good jobs and have that type of income to spend it on things like this. Proud regular edition owner and print owner :)

Good Post...but next time please put paragraphs

Speculation.... I think there will be ... 3000 of the Collector's Edition plus the EX of 750 ... total run... 3750.... It would be nice to have a "low" ES, but it's not a game changer for me ... Let's celebrate to an awesome statue

What's difference does it make if it's a lower es? Thanks

More collectible and arguably better QC because of a smaller run.

Better QC not necessarily true. SS Apocalypse comes to mind where the regulars turned out better. Usually QC is similar from my experience.

We all want lower ES in our collectibles to hold their value over time. It's nice to have 1 of 200 vs 1 of a 1000.

Well ... there is less of them made (Lower Edition size) more rare ( I suppose)To me it really doesn't matter much . If I like a certain piece I get it .. Having a lower edition size is a bonus!

No one who knows thanos well will be happy with the regular. It has nothing to do with value.

Lower Es definitely is good when we decide to sell later on. The value will hold. Who doesn't want that

I for one can tell you I am happy with my regular Thanos and I know the character well and I've read comics almost all of my existence. Now to be fair when concept went up I only saw the serious face and thought to myself they should have made him grinning. At that moment however I still had decided I wanted it and would get it as soon as it became available the grinning face was never an issue until they announced it would be an EX. Even then I just knew I wanted the statue the fact that it would have an extra head with a grin that just made it that much more exciting. Now once I found out it had sold out, of course I was disappointed but I still bought it and was still and am still happy with my purchase. So I might be the exception but I am happy with my regular despite knowing the character so don't speak for everyone. Now if I get the chance to get an alternate head sculpt I will be happy but if I don't it won't change that I am extremely and yes I do mean extremely happy with the statue. I've only ever been this excited when I got my Gladiator Hulk and my Punisher comiquette.

I'm just waiting for the first WL conversions to be reported so that I can have an idea. If things go too long I'll plan to PO a regular if/when a low quantity alert goes up. I still think there will 100+ WL conversions. Not sure how far I am down the line, but relatively early. And again, I would not fret because there will absolutely be custom heads for this as long as the portrait is removable on the regular (on the EX the seam is right along the jawline). I can't see SS fixing the head on the regular version as it would probably require a different mold and a different packaging configuration.

Being a big Thanos fan (especially Ron Lim's take on him), I'm in the "grinning portrait is a must" camp on this one. I am going to be making every effort to snag the Ex. Even though I got on the wait list pretty early, I'm definitely not holding my breath that it will convert so I already have a few pieces in mind that I could sell off to make this happen. The release timing is perfect that I can always put some of my Christmas bonus toward one as well. I do have a limit in mind for just how high I will go but I had already made up my mind that this statue will be the end of my high-end collecting. When this Thanos was finally fully revealed it just felt like the perfect piece to end with. With my son getting older etc... there's just way more important things to focus on especially with pricing in this hobby steadily going higher than I'm comfortable with. I do have the regular on order just in case the price of the Ex ends up exceeding my limit (nothing would surprise me at this point) because the only thing worse than not scoring the Thanos Ex is not scoring Thanos period IMO.

I'm glad you said this. I didn't even consider that the Reg head may not be removable. That may suck for a lot of people wanting aftermarket head sculpts.
