I personally think the bulky boots and gauntlets look better and I was a huge fan of the original Andy Kubert design.

Neat idea and nice surprise (especially after Randy saying for months that "Batman vs. Predator isn't possible, not happening", "we've done enough Batman, no Batman this year").

These sets aren't for me though. I really want to like that Batman and Superman (I love classic blue and grey Batman), but they look way too rough. The highly detailed, roided out bodies and faces just don't do it for me, especially with that dry brush wash on them. People online are like "FINALLY, the DEFINITIVE COMIC BATMAN AND SUPERMAN, **** MATTEL", but I think Mattel's DCSH and DCUC Batman is better looking than this. I personally prefer that Crime Stopper Batman head the Four Horsemen sculpted over this one.

Batman and Superman remind me of these figures that Kenner/Hasbro produced in the 90s. They were McFarlane expired and kind of grotesque looking. I guess that fits this set since it's based on the 90s comics.

I think that Armored Anti-Predator Batman looks great from the chest armor up. I love that helmet headsculpt, it looks rad. From the neck down, it doesn't look very accurate to the comics though. Gauntlets, belt and boots remind me of the armored suit from the Arkham video games. I don't care about the accuracy though, he looks like a great action figure. I mean look how cool this is,

If I see them at Toys R Us or something, I'll probably pick them up (and throw the Predators and Aliens into the trash) to help support the DC NECA front.

Exactly, I don't particularly like the bodies on Superman and Batman, too roided out it's kinda gross, but I can see the 90's appeal on them.

I like the 90's, just not Batman and Superman from the 90's, it's when people started to not know what to do with Superman and it shows with the uber roided out art.

BUT!

They look much better and of a much better quality than the DC Icons.

I was hoping they reused the Reeve body and they did something else besides the Ali 2-pack these seem to be the same body as Kratos.

That Batman vs Predator one look gnarly though.

I should've guessed they were gonna use Kratos body for comicbook stuff when they did it with Deadpool.

Maybe I'll just end up waiting for the Revoltech ones :lol

I'm sure they'll have fixed the paint-apps by then, seeing as we're at least six months :)() away from getting these. If there's one thing NECA seems pretty consistent at in this scale, its paint.

Also, the body-builder look is pretty accurate to Bernie's art, which is what that sets based off of.

As for Superman, I'm just thankful that we didn't get the mullet.

^Alright I'm sold, but I'll reread Batman vs Predator tonight just to be sure about the sculpt, don't remember Superman looking like that though.

Yeah paint will be alright, all their figures look grainy when they're protos.

PS: Mullet Supes is awesome shut up.

Okay, seeing the solicit order photos are making the regular Batman grow on me, I love that ****ing utility belt. It's perfect. The only thing that would make him better (assuming he's painted well and looks more refined) is if they made him more vibrant. He looks washed out. The cape, cowl, and gauntlets come off as a dull grey instead of a rich blue or black.

This would look better imo.

As opposed to this,

Unless it's my monitor and phone screen. I dunno.

I'd personally prefer entirely jet black, but the lighter blue reminds me a lot of the classic Jim Aparo look.

Getting these and tossing the aliens in 'da tresh. I love how they look; it's reminds me of some of DC Direct's figures from a while back.

It would be cool if they could somehow make the whole Justice League (GL, WW, Flash, Martian Manhunter, Aquaman) in this style. I agree about Batman's colors looking dull though, especially when compared to how bright Superman's costume is.

Love these Batman figures. I'm in for both sets. Looks very 1990s, which is exactly how I'd want this set to look. And although there are differences, I think the Batman Predator armor looks great and is certainly passable for the one in the comic. Rereading Batman VS Predator tonight. It and Batman/Grendel are my two favorite crossover comics between companies. So happy to see these sets!

The reason he looks dull grey is cuz that's how Batman was colored in Batman vs Aliens #1

I think it's more fair to judge based on well lit pictures in the show room like this one. You can see it's a bit more vibrant, certainly more than the promo images and washed out flash pictures. It should look bit better in hand I'd imagine.

I personally like it, I can't wait to get my hands on this, thin him down, and do a few different versions and color schemes. Maybe a new head. I've been waiting on a 90's comic batman to play around with. While I do like the DCUC classic one... those bodies are really hard to mod. They look too... factory generic. They feel more like cheap toys to me. The articulation is a little more sophisticated on NECA's figure.

We all know he's gonna need a new cape, I mean look at that thing, it doesn't even match lol. It does look like it drapes around the full body, which is cool, but it's no problem to make a new one. The factory cape looks a lot better on the Predator set batman.
