Thanks man, though I have to say I am totally amazed at the variety in the dimensions of the IKEA DETOLFs out there. Since with all my other IKEA stuff from years apart keep fitting when I fit a replacement part, I wasn't expecting this at all. I have more than enough with and height left in my two DETOLFs I tried it. Anyway, we will be building different construction from now on to make it more universal.

Jazz i don't know if it's the detolf or just me that's why I prefaced my comment with me being horrible at this stuff.

I'm glad I still have all my arms and legs after putting it together (because I'm that bad at these things haha)

I think it's the Detolf. Those wire shelf supports are all over the map when it comes to tolerances.

I finished putting together my two units. As I don't use detolfs I had planned to put them side by side (without the ceiling) and I think it turned out really well. Thanks so much Jazz.

I put mine together this morning. The basic kit was very easy to install. I need to get out some of the boxes for the figures I'm going to permanently display to swap some hands and accessories, but snapped a few quick pics just for fun.

I always wondered what happened on the Death Star when it wasn't getting raided or destroyed by rebels.

I need to get an extension cable to be able to turn the lights on.

Brilliant work Jazz. Congrats to you and your dad for a great piece. Can't wait for the Tantive Service corridor and opening scene corridor.

On the diorama not fitting the detolf, I wonder if over the years there have been variations in dimensions. Are those having trouble got newer or older detolfs? Mine are about 20 months old and fit like a glove.

:rotflTMI in those pictures! Yeah, my detolfs are about a year old and I have room to spare in all directions

I know it has its own thread but I am just so happy with how this one turned out!

Great pictures, everybody!
Trunkz, the acrylic case turned out really well! It's like a 5th shelf on top of the Detolf.
Momaw, I love the pose of the Trooper in the first shot, his facepalm pose looks so natural.

Mine are about 9 and 6 years old. No idea which is which, but it fit into one of them, and not the other.

Took some new shots today. I love how I can recreate more realistic "on set" photos with this diorama. :)

Every time i look at those dioramas, ideas for new ones keep popping up in my mind. Looking at that Tantive IV service corridor, i'm thinking a Bespin corridor would look epic as well.
