I'm actually planning on having a no pauldron Sandtrooper. Just not to fill the role of Stormtrooper.

Has anyone ever converted a Sandtrooper into a regular Stormtrooper? I'm assuming you can take all the Sandtrooper gear off and i'm not someone who minds all the desert weathering on it.

Would love to have seen Luke correct Ben when he mentions the Imperial Stormtroopers who took out the Jawa. Would have improved the scene.

The best thing about the prop differences is it gives them this element of run down troopers marooned on this desert wasteland. Whether it's completely accidental or they just figured with all the gear and grunge nobody would notice some of the unfinished looking elements.

Sandtroopers are Stormtroopers. But they are still different in a few aspects, no matter the name. And those differences make them even cooler

Only thing that never really made sense to me, is the movie gives the impression these Stormtroopers were just sent down with the express purpose of finding the droids and Death Star plans. Yet from all the dirt and wear and tear on their armor it looks like they've been down on the planet for quite a while.

Technically Sandtroopers ARE Stormtroopers.

Not even a technicality. There's no such thing as a "Sandtrooper" except in terms of marketing. They're just Stormtroopers on patrol. The prop stuff is outside the scope of the narrative.

This has always been my thinking also. "Sandtrooper" was just a cute, marketing name given to them. Realistically though, they are just Stormtroopers merely stationed in a sandy environment (Tatooine in this case). Similar to the differences between the standard Stormtrooper in TFA and the "Jakku Trooper". They're both Stormtroopers.

I have the Sandtrooper figure but don't have the Stormtrooper because I feel a Sandtrooper is essentially a Stormtrooper, just a bit more ornate.

Off to the desert again next week...and of course, I'll hike out there with some figures to take some snaps of among the sand and rocks.....the scenery out there just makes them come alive...

...not to mention I love it out there! Unlike a certain whiny Sith lord in-the-making, I LOVE sand... :)

A little shocked this one is still easily available. Really is a classy figure...hope HT isn't dissuaded from releasing the white-paldroned one because this one didn't instantly sell out...
