Yeah I agree.. As much as people hate the prequels, there's a lot more to love as far as I'm concerned. Yes the stories can make some cringe, but the characters and visuals are great... The Clone Wars cartoon alone shoudl've saved this timeline for most fans.

It really annoys me that Disney seem to be avoiding everything prequel related. People love the Clone Wars era. Most people just don't like how the prequel movies were handled. They even didn't have Clone Wars (not Disney directly but I bet they had a say) in Battlefront because they wanted to "stick to the Original Trilogy"

Completely agree! It's asinine that disney would avoid the PT (i.e. Half the saga) just to appeal to the least common denominator. Aside from the few cringey love scenes, the movies are great. There's a really layered story and the motivations are spot on. People who say Anakins turn was quick only started watching after the windu fight. Go look it up in breakdown videos on YouTube if you need it. It's pretty amazing really how every little thing leads to that moment. But I digress. Hot Toys needs to jump on the PT at some point. We NEED Anakin vs Obi-Wan Two Pack with all the extras and epic final duel collage stand. Or a Vader with operating room table. I'd preorder those faster than light speed.

I'm really hoping VIII isn't a rehash movie like TFA was. I get why they did it (nostalgia sells) but it was way too safe. And I'm sure DICE will put some clone wars content in Battlefront eventually. I'm not sure how much more STAR WARS you can get than the Clone Wars. Especially for a video game. There are so many rich storylines and epic battles there. If you only followed the show it would be enough for an awesome game. And now with the new novels, Rogue One, and Rebels, the two trilogies don't seem so far apart anymore. All the new canon material has really done well to bridge the gap. It's wonderful for Star Wars fans. I'm hoping we won see PT vs OT one day, just an epic saga.

Wanted to show how good the hasbro hood looks on this. By far my favorite Maul for sure.

I got this guy for Christmas (a month after buying an original Maul for a custom). He's one of my favorite out of the box figures, he doesn't come with much but he's HT quality imo.

I do think I'm going to switch the body on mine though, the left shoulder "locks up" when I try to do certain poses.

Got my Maul today. I.AM.IN.LOVE with this figure. Would be in figure of the year running if it was $40 less or came with the robe. The articulation, the sculpt, the tailoring and the paint is top notch.

Got a fault with my figure, the blade itself seems fine but the socket for it seems to not be cut in at a straight angle, makes the blades hang down a bit, really noticeable on display.

Tried both blades, tried rotating them, same result.

I was having a browse on eBay as you do, and noticed Sideshows Inclusive V1 Darth Maul has a super new inflated secondary market asking price anywhere between $300 - $450 Yikes.

These pics are stunning. Has to be some of SS's best work to date.

Couldn't agree more.
Absolutely top notch figure. I hope Sideshow keeps this level of quality.

I hope so as well, but I'm not holding my breath. It's more likely this figure is a unicorn and the quality will drop back down to expected levels. Although I will say Dengar looks great from the promo pics. I just don't understand why their Luke figures always look so bad.. Seems like SS have trouble at the 1/6 scale but have no problem cranking out high quality PF statues.

If SSC could produce this kind of quality consistently through their 1/6 offerings, they'd give Hot Toys a run for their money and silence critics who rightfully complain that their 1/6 shouldn't be sold at Hot Toys' price point. That being said, this figure is woefully low on accessories and the base isn't consistent witht he rest of the line. Still, on its own, superb figure.

Yeah the new Snowspeeder Luke looks terrible. But even then, their Jyn Erso PF looks terrible too.

Yeah and they're $270 and $500 respectively. Idk what SS is smoking. Even Hot Toys has more market awareness and keeps their prices at a respectable level. The only HT figures that really get to an obscene amount are Iron Man figures, because of the die cast parts most likely.

Sideshows thought process: "I know what we should do, lets make our products more expensive than Hot Toys but offer less accessories, features and lower quality."

Even their packaging is **** compared to Hot Toys.

:goodpost:

I completely agree. The only reasons I bought Maul were because: 1. It's actually a great figure 2. I need it to complete my Sith Collection 3. I got it $50 off.

I honestly wouldn't pay any more than I did, which was about $210 shipped. The figure should've been $180 at retail and if it was, some people might call it figure of the year. I'm probably not going to buy another SS figure unless they miraculously announce Dooku and/or AOTC Anakin (with all 3 sabers he uses and removable arm). Hot Toys does everything better with a lower price point and it's not even a question anymore.

I think many of us, myself included, caved with the 50.00 off. Even then, felt slightly too high but it looked good enough in person when i saw it at Toy Anxiety and the only PT representation i have on my shelves is battle droids and Grievous (but I have him with Cad Bane and Rotta the Hutt, more of a clone wars set up).
