^^I'm glad I'm not the only one^^

The country is really sliding down this path. I hope there are enough of us to redirect it back toward sanity...

It's not only your country, it's the entire western world. I'm glad I only have to live with it for 30-40 more years, then I'll be gone.

It's almost pointless to have a discussion on the matter too, it's like trying to convince a born again christian there is no god. :lol

I think the paint job is quite well done indeed; however, it compromises the likeness though in my opinion. The likeness with just the stock HT paint apps is phenomenal.

Agreed. I can see maybe making the lips a slightly brighter red (instead of the same brownish red color HT puts on all the women), but I wouldn't touch the eyes at all.

Good post!

No it wasn't. It helped return the thread to a line of discussion that had run its course, and did so in a way that didn't engage Darth_Z or the topic in a remotely constructive way. Telling someone their perspective is "foolish" and to "seek help", but without arguing why, is just lazy. Stellardude reckons "words can't express...". Actually, words can. I'd recommend that Stellardude get a thesaurus.

I agree. While the quality of the paintjob is good, its over done. The eyes have too much make-up and lips are now the wrong shape as are the eyebrows. If it wasn't for the hair and dress, I would actually question who it is. The stock paint is better IMO.

Agreed. Thank you.

While I admire dudes skill and work, not really a fan of this. Started following him awhile back because of his Gal Gadot WW repaint which is night and day compared to the stock figure. His Leia repaint is like unnecessarily ricing out a good car.

I'd like to see a repaint of ANH Han and Luke. I forget which freak it was here who repainted their Solo, but it did bring out a better likeness than the stock app.

It was Jazz Inc I believe and he did a great job.

The repaint is very 'classic Hollywood,' much like Star Wars itself was a throwback to big, confident films from the 30's and 40's. So while it may be less accurate than the stock paint job it captures the spirit of Star Wars.

To quote the comedian Rocky LaPorte: "But they're extinct." :lol

It had to be Jazz :lol. I don't think I've seen him put a foot wrong with anything he's done with his SW figures and insane dioramas.

C'mon, we all know where it's headed - Brexit and Trump, Safe Spaces and Privilige, gendernonbinaryophobia... you seriously want to hear that in huge, emotional paragraphs?:monkey4 Soapboxing has gotten pretty tiring - the era's turned.:dunno

Let's get back to Leia's lip color. Because yeah, in the SW universe the lipstick makers were Marilyn and Gwen Stefani fans.

The alternative to lazy snidery is not necessarily huge, emotional paragraphs. QinGon wrote a lot of words in offering his perspective, and it was a good read. Plenty of others did the same. These hot-headed padawans, much to learn they have :lecture

Noel Cruz has done some phenomenal work in bringing out a likeness from almost nothing - but in this case the likeness was already great and the paint pretty good too. I don't want to rag on the work of someone infinitely more talented than me with a paint brush, but it really is out of whack with the character. Then again, why repaint a sculpt if you're going to leave it the same - he's definitely captured a different look from the original.

Really not sure what the make-up people were thinking with Leia, especially in ROTJ - I guess it was the eighties. We should all be thankful they didn't do a huge frizz 'do and padded shoulders.:lol

Just seems like it was headed into political discussion and it's not only a snore to read, it's against forum rules.

Messing around with Leia's hood again. Wish the bottom half looked as nice as the top half. Hopefully the Yunsil dress will make this figure even better.

I wasn't going to shell out for a new dress, but ugh... it's such a huge part of the character and deserves better than what comes out of the box.

Oh yeah! It's absolutely a guarantee that Yunsil's dress will make this figure look so much better! I have this in hand and I really don't like the dress, the length and the fabric they used for it. I'm glad I jumped on board for Yunsil's dress. I cannot say enough about her amazing work- a top notch tailor here. And this is an iconic look of Princess Leia- the figure deserves nothing but the best.

If not better, then certainly way more expensive.:monkey3

Nice pic by the way. That hood is tough to get looking right.:clap

Agreed. No need for vituperative attacks or any kind of invective, regardless of what "side" you're on. Insults tend to be the last resort of an insecure person with a crumbling position, attempting to sound confident.

Agreed also. I read up on enough politics as it is; a place where I come to discuss my hobby is the last place I want to see more political arguing. :lol
