Based on the reason for this being delayed, makes me wonder if "actor likeness" is the reason for the extended BvS Wonder Woman delay as well.

I wouldn't mind or be surprised if we get a completely different expression. By the time it releases they should have a good amount of episode VIII material to use. I like the sculpt now but its such a specific expression that it limits how you can display it. The BTTF Doc Brown has the same issue. But it's not like they had a lot of options.

It's an Episode VII Luke though. I say give him an expression that he wore in the end scene of Episode VII.

Is this the first time an official reason for a delay has been given?
I honestly wonder if whoever answered with that made up the reason. It strikes me as odd because Hot Toys gets licensor approval before revealing figures and the sculpt as is really isn't bad. There's always room for improvement but overall I think this sculpt is pretty good.

It could be because HT themselves decided to change the sculpt or expression. Or that Marvel decided to alter something. Usually it is the first reason. I read somewhere online that Howard Chan changed the star lord head sculpt's expression at the last minute due to them watching the movie and deciding Pratt needed a smirk and not a stern face. He mentioned they got stills from Marvel from the movie but they did not know about the character's traits so after they saw the movie, HT had decided to change the expression.

I feel this same with this sculpt as I do with the WW sculpt. I personally think it's pretty good as is and would be happy with that, but I do acknowledge it could be a little better.

I am disappointed with the delay but it honestly gives my charge card a break for a few months longer. I had no issues with the face sculpt either but at least this means hopefully they will improve upon it.

How is it that we still have likeness issues in the age of 3D face-scanning technology? Bad paint apps, I get, but there should be no excuse for sculpting likeness anymore.

lol by the time its out we might already see pics of him in VIII. If his costume is any different then that's gonna kill this.

We did get a small peek from Oscar Isaac this week, at least enough to see that the outer robe is different.

Spoiler Spoiler:
