The bickering and complaining accomplishes nothing.
PF prices have consistently increased every year and they will continue to do so unless we stand our ground.

Vote with your wallets folks. It's all we can really do.

But everyone is buying it... Apparently!

There's way more people buying stuff than just the ones on internet forums

I don't think many collectors realize how much time and money that there statues cost to make ...if it is too much for you . don't buy it ... that's cool , but please stop complaining

Price is high but if it comes to my door with minimum hassle and looking like it did in the case at SDCC I'll pay the premium. End of story. With payment plans available it can be done. We all can't just buy 8 PFs a year anymore. Be choosy and enjoy the hobby. If it proves to be too much for you wallets then move on. That's what I've done. There are plenty of other cheaper hobbies out there that aren't the roll of the dice like SS can be.

Top seller of the year ? Lol ss like to play this kind mind game as usual

Like Centurion said. If the price is pissing you guys off form together and do something about it. Bickering will not do anything to make change. It's not like this is the first Statue to get a high price tag! I'm not against anyone's opinion because $700 is a lot of money. I was not totally surprised by that price. Maybe everyone that is not happy should write to sideshow. Push for change!!!

The price is not my issue. I really want this to turn out mint!!!

He said "one of the the best selling". That could be top 100 out of all the products they are selling right now. Def a nice play on words.

The more I read this statement the less I buy it. As soon as I became interested in this hobby I joined 2 forums and monitor the girlfriends FB acct, its how I get my info and share with fellow collectors. Same for all of us here, so ALL those not a part of any social media in this hobby, how do they continue to be fans, get updates and routinely collect?

What? I'm confused. You don't have monitor anything. Just go to the SS website from time to time and buy what you want. There is nothing that says you need to monitor this or that. In fact many people who buy this stuff aren't crazy about it like you or I. They just buy a piece or two and move on.

Im just saying its how i stay informed, like all of us. What makes soooooo many other people/collectors different from us on the forums and not partake in said forums? I dont think you have to be a fanatic to do so. Its not like these things are in commercials being advertised, ie you dont have to be on a car forum to be in the know about what cars are available.

530000 views of this thread alone with 750 replies, 53000. You cant tell me forum members arent the majority interst holders.

I can tell you that's not the case. Plenty of people look but don't buy. You have plenty of of people who you can bet aren't concerned with forums or the like who buy what they like on the SS website. We are a minority regardless of what the views/hits are telling you. People who just stroll their LCS or who are walking through SDCC will buy one or two and then you never see them again.

I started collecting way before getting onto the forums. I started out collecting limited edition games that came with a model statue of some sort. How I found out about sideshow was funny. Having bought the collectors edition of Lord of the Rings the Two Towers. It came with some sort of collectible which was made from Polystone and I googled the name sideshow that was on the base. Then was blown away by what they were selling. I never collected another game piece again lol

Depends how many they make.

Unless they have a low ES this will be warming shelves for many years to come. Followed by 20% discounts.

Come on, Col.

This will sell out. You know that. The character is too popular. They could have charged $800 and it would sell out.

I don't think it's complaining. It's just discussing. Things can't always be positive. if it's too expensive then it's just too expensive 😁

Totally true.

Some folks will initially assume this is wrong, but I'm sure that once thought through, common-sense tells you that there are all sorts of ways that people will find out about things being available. Unless you are a Sideshow employee with access to their orders, it would be impossible to see how well things were selling.

On the other hand though, that alone wouldn't tell Sideshow how many sales they had LOST (and the reasons), without monitoring Facebook, forums & other social media. So they must be looking at both.

I do wish there was a standardised set of voting options at the head of each thread as that would certainly help us gauge how things are going compared to other items "for sale" listed here. I've been tracking this manually for the CoolProps 1:1 Predator 2 bust and the Sideshow 1:4 Predator 1 maquette (indicates the CoolProps piece is a lot more popular than the Sideshow maquette).

.

I'd be curious what the sale numbers are of forum member sales vs. others.

The CoolProps 1:1 Predator 2 bust does not have an ES yet, but we've seen edition #'s around the 650 mark. Those that posted on THIS forum that confirmed preorders or orders totalled about 50.

So - totally unscientific - and just a count from ONE item, on ONE forum - but there you go.
