Have you tried not using the green as the floor? Its spilling when the bottom of the helmet reflects any green. And my friend always have the green screen far off in the BG so it does not interfere with the subject. But then, it would mean a huge area to shoot in.

Same but let's also not forget Lucas made star wars for kids to begin with,

George was never friendly Uncle George, all day long thinking what his kids would like. He's not Santa. There are two big misconceptions about Star Wars. One is that it's a fairy tale and the second that it was made for kids all along. Of course "being for kids" is never valid criticism but there is a difference between for kids and childish. There are more than enough reasons why the OT is superior, everything was pointed out multiple times over the last ten years. Bad movies aren't bad movies because something isn't ones taste but because they provide a lot of surface for criticism and this surface is multiple times higher than of the original trilogy. The prequels weren't really something new, they were full of stereotypes and tremendously bad writing.

I'm not a prequel lover, but I'm also not a hater. I do think they brought more good than bad to the Star Wars Universe. Each movie's new villain (Maul, Dooku & Grievous) for me are more memorable than EMO Kylo Ren. His look was OK, but his characterization was terrible. And for me, Jango is way cooler than Boba, and I love the Battle Droids, Destroyer Droids... I can't stand the Disney Troopers, yet I love the Phase I & II Cone Troopers look. They look way better as an evolution into the Stormtrooper than First Order Trooper evolving from the Stormtrooper. The only thing visually I like from TFA is BB-8. To me nothing else is memorable enough. Even all the ships were lame, other than the revamped Tie-Fighter.

Thanks guys¡

It's just a green pic in my laptop for now, so there's nothing on the floor. I just rrvokoaur the green bits anyway, but fabric would be much better

If only his arms were as articulated as this...

Never really thought he made it for the kids.

Agreed. It was made for everyone to enjoy. What makes the prequels so odd to me is George added all this stupid childish humour like Jar Jar, but then goes ahead and has a good chunk of screen time dedicated to politics. The original films and Force Awakens hit that sweet spot in the middle.

Tried to match the whole "look" of the scene, and TPM as a whole really. No bright colours, grey colour grading, etc. No "teal and orange" hollywood look here, thank god.
I'm gonna have to go and buy some actual green screen fabric sometime, but the results were still a little cleaner this time round

Good match of the plate.

The green screen removal is never clean.... Theres always little fragments and bits. And because of the green reflections in the plastic i have to recolour most of it. There HAS to be an easier way...any suggestions?

To avoid this, I never shoot against a background with a bold color. Instead, I try to find a background which is similar to the one I want to integrate in. For example, I shot this against a grey background:

That's a really clean shot. Nicely done!

Excellent work, paintpot! The Kamino Jango reminds me of when I used to do that back when AOTC first came out. I really love the Battle Droid shot, though too. Great compositing!

Thats really, really good. How did you avoid vaders face being removed with the grey though? And is the background from the film, or a 3d render you did yourself? Is the floor real?

Tamashii show Style jango kamino display. Other hole can be used by Obi Wan, when he eventually comes out, with one hole to spare

Anybody have some pictures of their Darth Maul available to post? Been skimming the thread but havent seen any yet. Thanks mates

I find him extremely difficult to pose however, and the right bicep keeps popping out. He looks great in a neutral pose but I've been unable to get him in a good action stance
