Ok I'm getting pumped for this.
I'll give you this, the fact that people like this was certainly unpredictable :lol

Especially when you consider the reception the TNMN trailers got, both are virtually the same modern reboot with similar modern redesign concepts. Now that's a puzzle.

That's because there was already a good TMNT, so the new one didn't live up to the original...or the 2003 ad 2012 cartoons. PR doesn't have a good film yet, but this film has potential.

I think a big factor though was the nostalgia of the 90s TMNT movie and how well that has survived the test of time.

Not saying that PR doesn't have a huge fan base or memorable 'footprint,' etc. etc, but that first TMNT movie was and still is highly regarded by many as a great feat for the franchise. I don't think PR can make that claim.

I guess what I'm trying to say is I think TMNT fans and casual viewers had higher expectations, IMO.

Also micheal bay had his hands on it and people were very wary about it from the get go

But I'm talking about trailer reception alone, this and that are basically the same product of the modernized reboot age. So it's just that? Low standards due to past disappointments? :lol

I think that's definitely part of it.

Yes, but this "same modernized reboot" still looks like the LOTR trilogy when you compare it to the 90's film and the tv show with the villains in rubber costumes.

Pretty much :lol

As a big fan of the first few seasons, I'll remain optimistic unless it jumps the shark in a future trailer.
