Well I got my Hot Toys Boba Fett from Sideshow today and it does have one of the new coupons affixed to the shipper. I guess as long as they put them on the packages it doesn't bother me but the mass coupons were easier. I'm not sure I understand the goal of Sideshow by making them unique other than maybe they figure people will forget to redeem them.

The goal is to grab you by the ankles, turn you upside down, and shake you until the last nickels fall out of your pockets. I wonder if their profit margin is $20 per figure? Because unless that is the case they will lose a lot of business from me. I'll probably skip the bounty hunters too, my own feeble protest of all the shenanigans they have been pulling over the last few months.

I got the brown suit wolverine PF today and there was a discount code affixed to my box. You may now have to buy big like a PF that's over $400 to qualify for a discount code.

They are making them unique so they can control the amount of people using them. Once the code is posted on here or elsewhere anyone can use it. If it is unique they can say we are sending out $500 worth of coupons this month and that is it. But right now they send out $500 worth of coupons the code gets posted on here and it could end up being 2 or 3 times that amount. It's all about control unfortunately.

Ultimately they're getting business either way though. Maybe the margins are a bit smaller when more people use the coupons but at the same time they probably are gaining repeat customers. This way only the hardcore collectors are going to get and use them.

I have a figure coming in sometime next week. I'll see how much love I get because I've never gotten a code or freebie with an order, but then, I've ordered a lot the past 8 years or so, so there's no need for them to court my business.

I got the Mk45 a few weeks ago with no code. Ordered the Mk6 diecast once it was up for PO and got emailed a "thanks for your order, here's $25 off Marvel stuff people aren't buying."

Not sure if I'm going to use it. Doesn't work on dc WM Mk1, which is the only figure I want to add to my PO's. If I decide not to use it on whatever eligible I'll post it in here. Probably sooner than later.

The codes are really the only reason I would order from Sideshow. Without them I will only get exclusives from them.

I got the Sideshow 1:6 scale Punisher today and slapped right on the shipping box is a $20 code. It looks like they'll be sending personalized codes now with figures ordered rather than generic monthly ones.

I have a questions about the reward points system.

For in Stock items, if for some reason my item is damaged and they can't help me with a replacement or exchange and I'm not satisfied, will I get my points back? Vice versa with pre order items as well. Will they give me back the points? I looked at the terms and can't seem to find the answer

From my understanding, once points are used, there's absolutely no way to ever get them back, even if the item is broken or defective. I'm sure you'd have a case though so maybe someone can give you a more definitive answer.
