BECAUSE..... his unmentionables are passing extremely close to a bunch of sharp metal and glass shards, as we can see.

This is a really cool statue, interesting from all angles but I admit, the proximity of his nether regions to these dangerous objects is rather distracting. Instead of thinking "cool!, look at this amazing pose!" its "omg what the hell, look out already." It does not seem like the best choice of poses to me for this reason. JMO.

Sooooooooo your basically saying it's no way possible for spiderman to be in this type of scenario because his nuts are too close to being cut by a dangerous object.

I'm just asking don't get mad at me.

omg.....his nuts are to close....lol. Seriously from what I take from the pose is the glass is falling away from him as he's smashing through the window, it's not like the glass is stiff in it's spot in time and not continuing on it's outward momentum down and away from the object that smashed through the glass in the first place. I'm pretty sure if any of us jumped through a pane of glass that at some point the glass would be touching our bodies but would not all of a sudden stop moving and stab our body, or in this case our nuts.....:slap

No statue should have more base the the character it's holding. Kind of defeats the purpose of calling it a spiderman statue when only a third of it is actually spiderman.

After seeing it in person at SDCC I ordered it. The pics do not do this guy justice. Looks incredible in person.

It's great to hear that gives more confidence with the purchase!!! I think pictures can either make it look better than it is or worse than it actually is!!!

I'm amazed that not everyone loves this. I mean it's like to different than an XM Magneto. Like if you were reading a current comic you could see the whole setting and what's around him. A statue to me is basically always better the more detail it has.

The Spider-Man is but not all of them are.

For whatever reason Popcultcha.com.au classified the 1/4 Iron Man, Captain America, Black Panther, Falcon and of course the Spider-Man all as Diorama Statues. But I believe that Sideshow and Iron Studios facebook just say Diorama bases in the information pages.

Hope you dont have to pay aftermarket price to get this one, I think its gonna look bad azz in person

Whoa ...thought I was done with this thread. Too busy with SDCC to check on this thread ...to realize this was going on.

were you serious with this post? you've gotta be trolling.

Nope. Not trolling. Just expressing my opinion.

I was just thinking the same thing and I didn't even get past " the vertical window pane is holding him up" lmao

That's the dumbest crap I read

Howzit, brah! ...Good catch ...meant to say "metal window grille" ...or better known as "metal muntin bar". My opinion is still the same tho. Spidey is ramming through glass and the metal window grille. You can see Spidey is pushing the glass forward, but basically scraping his inner thigh (very close to his testicles) ...just because the metal window grille is what's holding Spidey up.

i don't care if he doesn't like the statue, his statements he made are completely...nonsensical. rammed the metal pane with his inner thighs? seriously? not to mention his comments about the arm.

jesus.

Again ...the "metal window grille" (or metal muntin bar) is what's holding Spidey up in this sculpt. When looking at this in person ...it looks like Spidey is breaking through the glass but scraping his inner thigh on the metal window grille. This is one of the things I don't like about this piece. The arm is another thing I don't like about it. These are just my opinion ...and it doesn't take away from you liking it ...so relax and enjoy it.

He doesn't like how his balls straddle the window and doesn't like how many planes of the piece Doc's arm goes through. Is it that hard to understand? His English seems pretty straight forward. Really? Jesus yourself.

Gotta agree. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and some peeps here take even the smallest of criticism hard or personal.

Exactly. I was just sharing my opinion. Thanks guys.

Yeah I can understand your point of view. I actually found it looked strange at first. But it's grown on me somehow. And I think it's because of the artistic impression alone. Some of the angles I have seen this piece at look really awkward. But I still gotta have him. I really like the Falcon statue more and more. With the Tentacle starting in then going out then in again is just the artist imagination I think along with the oversized eye patches. I still love it. How about the base. Does it give you the impression of flimsy? because I have to admit I am concerned it's really delicate and light weight. Not taking anything away from the design `point of view.

Good for you, bro. That's what I was trying to do actually ...keep going back to the SSC booth to see if this piece would grow on me. It didn't ...sad to say ...but congrats on this piece. Enjoy it.

As for the base, I thought it looks sturdy enough to hold the weight. That wasn't one of my concerns, so I think you're fine.

Some folks are way too sensitive toward criticism of something they like. Lighten up, Francises. I personally don't care for the design of this statue, or version of Spidey at all, but it looks very well done, quality wise. In fact, I wish SSC would move away from the comically large eyed Spidey and do more statues in the Romina, Sr. Style.

Nothing wrong with that. Everyone is entitled to their own.

Exactly. Thanks guys!

I concurred it's well done and I like it. It's impressive seeing in person and the pose kickass in different angles. I will have to PO it now.
