1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Star Wars Episode VII: Luke Skywalker Collectible Figure

I think it looks very close to something I'd purchase but it s just not totally there yet and I can't put my finger on it. Maybe he's just not weathered enough, literally and figuratively.

It doesn't have a weary look like the weight of the galaxy is on his shoulders. He looks more like Starbucks got his order wrong.

Episode VIII starts right where Episode VII ended (as said by Rian Johnson). If more footage is revealed after Rogue One, I can definitely see this figure getting some more fine tuning. I think it's going to be great.

We know Hot Toys is no stranger to updates before a figure releases and Luke is a vital part of the franchise.

It's always the eyes...for whatever reason, the artists tend to round out westerners' eyes a little to much-- especially on the bottom...look at ep7 Han, Luke anh, ....not squinty enough

I think it's idealised like most of HT's Star Wars sculpts but I see a lot of Hamill in there. It'd be good to see him with messier hair but I'm pretty happy with how this looks.

That's a great way of putting it. It goes beyond SW though, I think Ripley falls in line with term.

I think it's a good likeness, but a little bit forgiving. Hamill's face seems more weathered and pitted IRL than what HT did. I don't necessarily mind the stern look since it may serve well for a future scene. But since it's supposed to be specifically the final TFA scene, it should have been much more sad and anguished.

Luke overcoming anger was a pretty big deal in the Star Wars movies. . .so, this figure is inappropriate--CONFIRMED.

Jedi Master Luke Skywalker is a grail figure for me and this will be an instant purchase but I'm also in the "hope they change the sculpt/expression" camp. He looked extremely forlorn when Rey found him, not angry or vindictive.

Depends if you can wait 3 years or not? Myself I'm running out of space as these figures keep piling up. I made the mistake of "out with the old in with the new" collecting and am now with out one if my favs jack sparrow. So with me already have 2 Luke's (SW & EMPIRE) and wanting to keep space available for the HT bespin Solo... Might very well have to pass on this. The only figure I own from TFA is the exclusive Stormie HT offered about a year ago. That was an impulse buy of excitement that I do regret a little. Rey in her scavenger fatigues is the only figure I'm (is it sold out yet?) really considering buying from the NT... So far anyways.

I think I can wait, plus he didn't have much screen time in VII. Not to mention space is an issue for me as well and I keep telling myself I will stick to the OT to combat the space issues. The collector has other ideas though! lol
