Well, I wouldnt say vastly different, but yeah, the costume used in each film is actually completely remade each time. The biggest differences usually being the helmet and in ANHs case, the cloak being over the shoulders instead of underneath.

Agreed about Maul. Im not a prequel fan in any sense, but Maul actually looks like the actor that played him in makeup, its that good.

Yeah, I'm not either, which is why he's not top of my list, he is really nice though. The Obi Wan looks great too, I'll see how I'm fixed when I get the others. Vader and Luke are priority buys for me right now.

Ok, yeah, fair enough, but, just the one Vader will do me. As long as he's tall and can duel with Luke I'll be happy.

Some more detailed pictures

Very nice, but, I can't justify spending that much on one. As I said, Luke and the FO troopers are as high as I really want to go in terms of price. Maybe Maul at a pinch, if I can find a rare steal.

You dont want figuarts Vader then, he is really short. I would go with Mafex or the model kit, though unless you have a black series Vader to use the soft goods the model kit becomes a brick due to the hard plastic cape and skirt piece.

Agreed. I ended up selling the Figuarts Vader and replacing it with the Mafex. I much happier with it. Taller and the cloth cape is much better than the plastic Figuarts one.

I know, that's why I'm going to get the Mafex next. If I'm really happy with him then I'll get Luke.

He does look good, did you repaint the hair!? That would be the only thing I'd do to mine. We've seen that, if done carefully, both Mafex and Figuarts can be disassembled, I wonder, could the upper body from the Figuarts Vader be mated to the lower body of the Mafex?

No, the hair is still gold its just the lighting that made it seem that way.

Interesting, the only thing I heard of was modding the Mafex neck piece to fit in with the SHF head. That would be great to see, do you have a link for the disassembled SHF Vader?

I was thinking out loud a bit there and meant that Mafex and Figuarts figures in general come apart. The joints will have been snapped together in order for them to move so freely, so it would follow that they would come apart. I've seen the SHF Maul pops apart at the waist, one would assume that the others would too. The only conversion I've actually seen has been the Bandai model kit head on the Mafex Vader. If that can be done then something else might be possible. Both Vaders look to have similar waist joints. I guess someone with both figures will have to take one for the team and see....

I'll check on my way home now

Cool, if a decent hybrid could be done then it'd be win win for both companies as people would buy both figures. With a taller lower body it would be worth putting the Mafex cloak on the SHF upper body.

Agreed I'm actually in the process of toying with my vader if this doesn't work I will likely cut the thigh and add some height probably a 1/4 inch would do

Sounds like a plan, and the inner cloak would hide some of that. What about putting the Mafex legs onto the SHF?
Thought about that too. I'm even curious if the bandai model kit vader could be swapped. If I extend them myself I'll likely do it like on my Dooku.
