Looks great, I was thinking of getting one too, but there is sooo much other stuff right now.
Am I right in thinking it's die-cast?

Basically the bottom half is die-cast, while the upper half appears to be mostly plastic. It gives it a good amount of weight and helps it stand without falling over. Aside from the paint job (which is a more bright yellow) it really does look a lot like a miniature version of the HT Power Loader, including the maze of tubes in the back. I had to use some tweezers to put those on.

The only thing that STILL bugs me about the HT Ripley/Power Loader, is the Ripley likeness. And that's what annoys me with all the HT Aliens humans (the marines): their likeness is so off... I don't want to start that discussion again, since I know that the likeness is in the sculpt, and the paint job is off. But Since I don't intend to customize or alter my figures in any way, it's pretty annoying that the likeness is going to be absent for ever. Buuuuuuut, at least the Power Loader looks like one.

Well I'm not complaining. Yes, it needs a paint job but well worth it IMO.

It does indeed suck, but I think it's fortunate they could get away with having any likeness at all in the sculpts, they didn't have the rights so it was quite a clever work around just masking them in bad paint apps. As close as the Hicks/Reese portrait is to Biehn, you don't see it totally even in that head.

just buy it. keep searching the bay. got mine for $190.00 shipped MIB. trust me; when you display it you won't even notice ripley not being "perfect". damb good looking piece IMO.
