Personally I never thought the HT Indy sculpt was that terrible. The Sideshow Indy looks better then the Hot Toys in person but for some reason the Sideshow Indy does not look good in pictures, maybe the flash is the problem?
I own both and what throws me off with the TOD version is the undersized/round head. On its own it looks great, but when you have it set up next to other figures is when the head looks undersized. I know the hat doesn't help matters but I still think it's not bad.

I'd be awesome if somebody kit bashed both versions. Basically adding the jacket and hat at least to the TOD one. I just don't want to fool around with my Hot Toys one..might not be able to get it back into that great pose.

I know there has been people who have modified the eyes in the Hot Toys one to give it less of that eyeliner/shadow look. Does anyone on here know how difficult that is to push those eyes closer? Just don't want to ruin anything permanently.

I picked this figure up today and wow...

I LOVE THIS FIGURE! the likeness is incredible!

It hurt when I skipped the DX05. I just...was not a fan of the sculpt. My collection was always missing one of my childhood heroes and I was waiting patiently for MANY years for HT to take another pass at Indy. Lo and behold...And of all companies...SSC was the one to knock it out of the park. They definitely stepped up their game. Kudos SSC. I am very much looking forward to a last crusade Indy.

I'm not hating, just giving some advise. When i made mine I took lots of advise from Rorywan, guyver1 etc. Here are some older pictures of mine when he was WIP.

That looks great.

And yours doesn't have ectoplasm coming out of his nose. :monkey1

I was messing with mine a couple of days ago after taking his head off, trying to find a look that didn't annoy me. And that was the angle that I found worked best: tilted down and looking to his left with the brim of the fedora shading his eyes.

If you post pictures of your figure mate, your pretty much guaranteed to get some feedback. Friendly or brutally harsh. Don't let it worry you, you know, the opinions like a-hole phrase ....

That's not the point. The point is, firstly:

If you post these opinions in response to people saying how much they like their SSC figure...

That hat still makes me laugh!

Still can't see past that hat...!!!

Perfect?! That is a very strong opinion, Jeppindude! Is it really better than this, in your opinion?!
(insert pic of custom figure here)

... you're probably gonna get some a-hole responses. Right? :dunno

And secondly... you don't say those things and then act hurt at the responses and expect an apology. Right?:dunno

This is just basic decorum. If you don't like the figure - by all means, say so. But don't mock people for liking it.

Just seems that Kuat dude has a problem with me, that's all. His figures are obviously all perfect and better than everyone else's.

Personally I think it's best to just keep the SSC TOD Indy thread strictly about the... SSC TOD Indy. We have the other thread for people to post pics of their other Indy's in. :)

Meh... In the end... for me at least... As long as you enjoy your collection.. Enjoy it :) I have found over the years that any forum (1/6 or otherwise) is full of debate... nature of the interwebs :gah: I will say, Timemeddler, your Indy has some sharp looking gear too :)

Question for those who have the figure. Have you tried the headsculpt on another body and vice versa ? I'm interested to see how they look.

This is my first Indy figure...as mentioned before I'm loving it. However I will admit I wish it came with his jacket. So my question is...I've found medicoms Indy for $115. Will it's jacket work on this version?

Nope. Absoulutely not. It'll be too small. If you're not wanting to spend $$$ for a custom jacket, you're better off trying to get a HT Jacket by itself or a Sideshow one.

It may not get every detail right, but the HT jacket it still a really nice one and there are a lot like me who are perfectly happy with it. And it definitely looks better than the Medicom one.
