Hey Tonton, that would make sense, but I shouldnt have to keep adjusting my deposit if I already put a deposit down on X amount. If Nick Fury was $240 before the glitch and since their stating my order went thru a normal deposit order then I should be paying $240 for Nick not $266.

Lets just say for example SSC has Nick Fury for $220, lets forget about shipping and I set up a payment plan for X amount. SSC wont go back and up the price on me knowing I acknowledge I was putting a deposit down on the $220 price tag.

Simply put most online stores usually sell products in their local currency. For Popcultcha it is the AUD, just as it is the USD for Sideshow.

I live in Australia, but if I buy anything from Sideshow on payment plan etc of course the remaining balance would be what Sideshow charged me in, which is in the USD. And from what I pay out of pocket (AUD) this would seem to fluctuate over the remaining payments and this especially hurts on preorders placed over 1-2 years ago with Sideshow as the AUD has crashed against the USD in that time. This is of course an extreme example but some late or delayed preorders ended costing those outside the USA up to 30 to 40% more.

As such if Popcultcha prices seem to be changing just based on currency movements, then this is no different to what Sideshow does. What most stores in fact do.

The only arguement I see in your favour is that you were only able to checkout using the deposit method. And if they're changing the AUD total cost back to its original correct cost, well it was a glitch (and I assume you knew that when you placed the order) and many here were hoping but it was no where guaranteed to be accepted and processed. The full paying customers were lucky as it is, and imo only accepted because the order invoice was in effect closed when fully paid whereas deposits are still open invoices.

Like a few have said Popcultcha should make the entire checkout procedure in the AUD (less Australian value added tax GST) and leave all the confusion out. Well other then forex/PayPal/duty and custom fees of course.

This is the 'joy' of buying internationally.

TexasFinest, I think you should cancel your order (even though I understand your position that you shouldn't have to).
Then, check with PayPal to ensure you have it connected to your bank account directly. I have mine tied directly to my bank account to prevent payments getting declined due to some issue with my debit/credit card. I haven't had any issues using PayPal on Popcultcha this way.

Well, my default setting is NZ$ (the variance of NZ to Au has never been that much.. currently the NZ$ is worth 88c Au), and the low price Hot Toy sixth scales are:

Tonto 143
Mandarin 154 (roughly half RRP)
Jor-El 154
Noland 154

Flicking to Au dollars I see him for 136

No idea what's going on there.

Especially given that for you it gives such a round number being exactly $39.00 lower then the AUD cost including GST.

I just changed the site to USD, and it came out with the figure that you stated/showed.

It seems to be a conversion of the $149.99 AUD incl GST *0.7400 USD exact conversion rate.

So for someone in the USA that price isn't going to be the one you'll be paying for the item as it still includes the 10% GST (value added/consumption tax).

You'll need to further divide the USD $110.99 by 1.10 which equals USD $100.90 (plus further adjustments for the real currency translation rates plus shipping).

yup, thanks for the help gents. comes out be about 130$ USD for me, I'm gonna snag him up soon for that price as long as he stays in stock for about a week

PC now has a $10 AUD ( ~$7.50 USD) off with promo code "10EGGS". So for me, the Mandarin shows as a total of $116 USD in Paypal. Great deal!!

I cashed the coupon along with my pc points to get $60AU off AoU Black Widow. I doubt I will get any better deals during one of their 15%-20% off sales as they disable the points system for those anyway..

Just got an email from Pop similar to the one others have been receiving stating they are honoring my order for a HT Han Solo as long as I paid in full. Luckily I did.

Whilst the prices on PopCultcha are very good, you need to be wary of custom charges. When my figure arrived in the UK I had to pay around £60 (90USD) in charges.

Problem is, my figure has some damage (ASM2, stitching at the front of the mask has come undone). PopCultcha are unable to replace, as its a sold out figure, and I cannot find a replacement ASM2 head anywhere.

So my options are, 1. Stick with a damaged figure. 2. Send it back for a refund. The problem with option 2 is that I will have to pay to ship it back to them, and I will only receive a refund for the figure, not the postage to me in the first instance. So 2 lots of postage plus the custom charges will total about £100 (150USD). So I will have spent £100 for the 'privelege' of having a damaged figure for a few weeks.

It's all very annoying as at the point of sale I asked them to open up the figure they would send to me to check it had no damage. They couldn't do it because it was against policy. Would have saved me a lot of hassle though!

PopCultcha have offered me £25 as a voucher to spend in their store, but that doesn't really help me a lot.

In closing, PC have great prices, but if something goes wrong and you live outside of Australia, you are screwed.

Geez. that is terrible. I'll avoid figures like Spider-Man with stitching, etc just to avoid those issues. I bought Widow, gamora, and Mark III from them and thankfully didn't have any issues. Sorry to hear about that hassle. Definitely makes you think twice.

I always thought they reimbursed postage.

Straight from their website:

"Popcultcha will only issue refunds, exchange products and/or issue store credit if the defective item is returned to us in exactly the same condition it was received by the customer.

Popcultcha will cover the shipping cost of defective item from the customer's nominated delivery address to our HQ in Geelong, Victoria. This can be done several ways ie. Popcultcha emailing a returns shipping label to the customer to use at their local Australia Post Office, or by refunding the postage upon the defective item being received by us at HQ. However, it must be noted that Popcultcha reserves the right not to reimburse postage costs unless it expressly approves of the item being returned to us at HQ - therefore, it is very important that if you have got a defective or damaged item, you must contact us within 30 days of receiving that item."

I've ordered from them quite a few times and I've never got charged custom fees ? I'm in the United States.

Well after several weeks of going back and forth with this company about my order and how it supposedly went thru as a deposit only order, they cancelled my orders without me agreeing to have them cancelled. Well I take that back they cancelled by big order of 5 figures and let me keep my 1st order of Obi Wan Kenobi. I was told by Ben that their Director of Business would be in contact with me after the Easter weekend and here it is almost 2 weeks later and still nothing. Ben stated that their Director is a busy man and that he has Carbon Copied him on all our back and forth emails. Funny thing is if the Director had time to read and reply to Ben's emails then he could have easily contacted me directly as well, must not be too busy he if had time to read mines and Ben back and forth emails for the past 2 weeks.

Ben stated that they would honor my Obi Wan Kenobi discount glitch order and today I kindly cancelled it. If their not going to honor both orders then i dont want to do business with this company especially when I was first told they would honor both and have the email to prove it. About 2 days later, Ben contacted me and said they realized my 2nd order went in right after they fixed their discount glitch supposedly. I asked Ben to show me how can they tell whether it went in before the glitch or after the glitch and 2 weeks later Im still waiting. Now after waiting patiently for the Director, who I was told would contact me asap directly after Easter, he's a busy man. :rotfl

Probably only within Australia as they say they'll give you a label to us at your local Australia Post.

This isn't any different than if you buy from Sideshow, I don't think they will refund shipping either.
