Finally! I have wanted an Alien for years but the high secondary prices and reports of QC issues like breakage kept me away. I will definitely be picking up this one and Power Loader Ripley. Now they just need to start reissuing some new and improved Colonial Marines, as well as Alien Queen and Big Chap. While I'd like to see more characters like Bishop, Newt, Hudson, Frost, etc. I don't think there's a big market. I'd even be happy with just a new Hicks and Vasquez.

Especially because the blue seen in the movie is all lighting.

I, too, would have preferred a brown/black one. So much blue...

If I do get this, I am definitely cancelling my 1/4 NECA blue warrior and hoping...nay praying NECA does a brown 1/4 warrior.

Think I'll order this once it's coupon eligible. Also people were talking about no NRD but that must have changed as they're asking for $25 up front.

Whoever had the "no nrd" option lucked out if SSC honors* that. Flex is also available now, must have been a glitch.
This is actually an excellent representation of Alien IMO. I wouldn't mind owning this, just not at that price. I have a feeling it will sell out though.

* I don't think they will.

Yeah. When it first went up for PO there was no NRD, but they have since "fixed" that. I placed an order for 2 before they added the NRD. I figured with no NRD there was really no reason not to. If we start seeing in-hand pics after this Alien Day event and it turns out to be a dud then I'll just cancel

Interesting. If I get charged, I will fight it -- took pictures of the site with the 'no NRD' asked for. I would think they should at least contact you first to tell you about their mistake.

I will cancel my order if there's an NRD.

Me too. I placed my order before the NRD was added. If they come back to me now and ask me for the NRD then I'll just let them cancel the order. That said, I don't think they will. I'm pretty sure I remember reading about a similar situation not too long ago where SSC added a NRD to a figure after some customers had already placed their orders without paying the NRD and I don't remember hearing about any cancellations or anything from SSC. I can't remember which figure it was though, so maybe I'm just imagining it.

I'm confused. Why would you cancel it if they ask for a NRD? Were you planning on buying elsewhere but realized there was a glitch and SS wasn't requiring a NRD so went with them?

Good to see some movement with this line! The sculpt from head to toe looks better but I agree about the rubber. Wouldn't have minded if they went with the same design as the older warriors that had plastic limbs and just the torso was rubber. I've yet to have any issues with degradation (*knocks on wood*), but this kills the idea of posing them with bent joints for prolonged periods which is a bummer.

Wish they finally got the teeth color right. Not overly bothered by the rest of the paint but it's not perfection either. At least it's blueish black and not that array of bright blues like the original warrior. I'm in for a couple of these despite the disappointments here and there

Why does Sideshow list this as 13.77" tall? They didn't shrink their Aliens, did they?

I caught that straight off the bat. The old ones were all listed at 16". Why would they make them smaller?

The only time I am willing to pay a NRD on a pre-order is when I am absolutely 100% certain I want it and there is a chance it might sell out before it is released. Due to HT's somewhat notorious reputation when it comes to Xeno figures I would rather take a wait-and-see approach. Of course, if there is no NRD, then there's no risk so I might as well PO

I love the details of the mouth that HT did, it just needs the wet saliva or dripping effects

At least you don't have to use the acid blasts.

I'm more concerned about another "blue" alien looking toyish. If you want the blue lighting effect, put it under an LED... otherwise, HT should make it the color of the props.
