Amazon Japan has the release date for Ratchet listed as April 23rd, so you should be good. Those dates have been spot on the past several releases, and we've already seen in-hand photos of Ratchet so no reason to fear a delay.

Thanks. Think I'll hold off, then. $10 or $15 saved is that much earned!

Thanks for the Shockwave video - a little disappointing because of all plastic and hollowness but I'm still getting him. As for Ramjet, I was never going to get him. The head sculpt is bad and I really hate all the kibble that is attached to his leg. Yes that is how the toy and cartoon looked like, but the whole look looks so cluttered.

I myself am glad I sold Quakewave when I did. While a great figure in its own right, it never screamed cartoon Shockwave to me.

Thanks for the pics and video review of Shockwave, as well as the review of Ramjet. I prefer the proportions, especially the thinness of the legs, of the MP Shockwave but cartoon accuracy aside, I think I would've liked it in Quakewave's color.

Looks a little stiff in robot mode but still cool as hell.

The math above for my preferred experience is with Anime Export.
Anime-Export web store
Click where it says Transformers 30% off.
Please note you only get the 30% off when the original Pre order is posted.
The PO will have an expiration date of 30 days. Once the 30 days is up. AE closes the PO and marks Sold out
Also want to add AE has virtually no customer service (knock on wood I have not had any issues )

I have also ordered from HLJ (hobby Link Japan) save 20% off
Home Page | HobbyLink Japan
HLJ has great customer service

Thanks, some of those are cheap. Ill have order from there next time, but order a few or more at a time

I still think the Fanstoys Shockwave is the best of the 3. I am impressed with Takara's transformation though.

Fantoys is bulkier, I like the color more, where applied, it has nice paint, and fits in beautifully with the other MP decepticons.

That shockwave looks terrible, flimsy, and not something that should cost what they're asking. Paint on it is dull and drab as well.

Agreed.

I'll be sticking with Quakewave....having an MP Shockwave that isn't made by Takara is quite nostalgic in it's own way as neither Hasbro or Takara made the original :lol

Japanese retail was 100.53 USD for Shockwave during initial pre order plus 16.00 express shipping.

As for these videos coming out showing the figure itself, I normally dont judge until I have the figure in hand. Sometimes its all about the lighting of the video causing colors to not be true.

I own the original Quakewave and love how strong the plastic and heavy he is meaning I can throw him at someone and they would get hurt. :) I dont think I would ever need to throw Quakewave or Shockwave so I'm ok if there is no die cast and plastic is typical MP plastic.

Yup. Personally, I think Quakeblast is the best of the three, the feet are perfect, while the fingers broke on my Quakewave.

I think Quakeblast does the feet better than either of the others, I also like that Cloud 9 did their own thing for the color scheme and went for a metallic purple which looked great on the video review I saw.

Both Quakewave and Quakeblast do a great job of evoking the Shockwave I remember from the Marvel comics, the one that was able to take on all the Dinobots simultaneously and get the upper hand.

Nothing about MP Shockwave suggests it's worth UK import prices.

Here's another video review of Shockwave. I wouldn't focus too much on the shade of purple because it fluctuates throughout the video as the camera's white balance tries to adjust, but he does a nice job of covering the articulation, features and transformation.

I don't think the 3rd party options hold a candle to the official release in terms of properly representing the on-screen character or fitting in with the masterpiece series, but they've definitely beat Takara Tomy on finish. Shockwave is a very plain character - almost entirely one color both in the toy and the cartoon - so the paints and materials used makes a very drastic difference. The fact that Takara Tomy left the purple as just a matte plastic, and the same with the grey parts, is why many people are preceiving this figure as "cheap". Sadly, the original G1 toy had more premium finish than his $115 Masterpiece counterpart.

.
The cost through HLJ now is the same as the pre-order price, which currently converts to about $120 in U.S. dollars. Seems like that was about the same as it was at the time he went up, and he's listed as being discounted from the "retail" price of about 17,000 yen.

All things transformers!!!!

While I think it's great that some 3p figures have Diecast and rubber tires and what not, I really don't see the fetish some have towards it. They all look good on a shelve and that's it. Unless you are 10 and still play with them.

Shockwave was a lame, extremely plain purple space gun, I really don't understand why some expect it to have the "detail" that Mp 10 or any other had. Those were cars with Windows, mirrors, etc etc. Soundwave? He's a cassette player full of buttons. Don't see what's so hard to (not) make comparisons to.

He's perfect to me, and I can't wait to have it.

Also, I paid $127 for him shipped, so yay me.

I have a preference for figures to have diecast where it makes sense and for carbots to have rubber tyres and I also like chrome on certain parts of some characters.

The G1 toys had diecast, chrome and rubber tyres, it's a nostalgia thing. No different to anyone wanting the MP figures to look as close to the animation models as possible.

I am not a cartoon guy, it's why I won't touch figures like Ultra Magnus, Hot Rod, the vanbots and Shockwave.

I also think that with MP figures costing as much as they do the use of better quality plastics and materials like diecast can help them feel a bit more high end than the average figure.

I know I sound like a broken record but I like saving money and arming fans with information to help them save as well.

I paid from 104 USD from Anime Export after PayPal conversion .AE provides 30% off retail and HLJ provides 20% off retail.

If you are worried about customer service it's wise to order from HLJ instead. HLJ doesn't shut down the pre order they keep it open until in stock plus they still give you 20% off .

Both AE and HLJ provide very nice packing. HLJ has actual branded HLJ shipping boxes abs AE ships in unbranded boxes.

I use AE because they allow pile of loot for longer than 60 days. HLJ is strict and will cancel you order after 60 days of being in stock.

Just trying to spread the word because I hate seeing people post saying " I wouldn't pay 169.00 for him plus shipping when you don't have too.
