I was originally on the fence about getting this guy, but he's now set to arrive within the next few weeks. I bought the Mark XLII diecast and Mark XLIII diecast figures - both of which are outstanding. Getting the Mark XLII first, though, really took some of the wind out of getting the Mark XLIII figure. I felt as if having another version in 1/4 scale would be going overboard.

The 1/4 has continuously looked good in photos and all of the features it has really make me think this and the upcoming Hulkbuster are the ultimate Iron Man collectibles at this point. I am also looking forward to the Mark XLV in 1/4 scale, but I am a little behind on Iron Man after interruptions by Star Wars. Their 1/4 Fett turned out great, though, and owning that, I had to have the QS Mark XLIII.

Really looking forward to this one!

Brilliant! I'm glad you're going for what is shaping up to be the definitive Iron Man piece.

On that topic: I'm in Canada for a few days, so if you're a Montreal-based freak looking to sell your Mark 43, or just want to give a tourist collector some pointers, hit me up :wink1:

Sounds good. I'm in the southern US, though. I love the die-cast 43 - it's just not the strongest overall Iron Man suit design. I feel like the Mark III, the Mark VI and Mark VII armors are still among the strongest - visually, for that iconic look. The Mark XLV and XLVI have a lot of potential, though. The XLIII still looks like an afterthought to cover up the mostly gold, Mark XLII. So, IMO, it's almost more like a secondary armor - design-wise.

Don't get me wrong - I love it. It's just I prefer to see total redesign on a suit rather than a recolor. With that in mind, the 43 is probably exactly what some collectors wanted color-wise when the XLII came out.

The 1/4 43 makes the armor look so much better than the 1/6 does. To me anyway...all that detail crammed on the smaller figure makes it look too busy. The 1/4 is perfection.

Ah.. I fear that you are showing symptoms of the same syndrome that I came down with. Whatever you do.. Don't display your quarter scale 43 with your 1/6 scale stuff. That will make the diagnosis almost irreversible!

Mine's going on a little coffee table next to the others on my dressor when I get him... so the comparison of him and 1:6 dc Mk43 will be there in all it's glory.. :lol

I just got him yesterday. eventhough I didn't plan to get him, as a display piece this is the greatest iron man figure to date imo.
I was trying to create few dynamic pose, but I was too scared moving it around too much.
anybody here manage to put a dent or scratch yet?

No, he's pretty sturdy. He's capable of some really impressive poses, so it's worth playing around and seeing what you can do with him.

thanks. I managed to play with him a bit.
I personally pretty cautious with the shoulder pad when moving his shoulder up as it often clash with the shoulder

Damn it. Was going to stick with Star Wars. Got this figure and 1/6 Hulk and now thinking of either a 1/6 scale IM or the 1/6 Ultron. Vote!!

I know King Arts has a 1/4 Ultron statue in the pipeline. That's the only Ultron in that scale I can recall seeing.

Is that the cell phone charger company?

Lol. They make their 1/4 statues with power charge bases to skirt around the licensing. I have the Winter Soldier Cap and I like it. They do have a somewhat poor reputation for customer service and some QC issues with their 1:1 props.
