Just picked him up from the UPS store on my lunch. Didn't take the platic protection off but looked him over and I'm really impressed with the quality of this piece. My third SSC piece and by far the best. The joints are tight like HT, the armor is not loose at all and the detail is amazing. Here is a simple pic with the plast still on. Very stiff. I'll put him into some other poses tonight and post them.

Definitely looks like an improvement over the first release which I use to own.

From what I can tell...

Most weathering marks of V2 to V1 match up on the gauntlets, helmet has a few different nicks but overall the same, could just be slight production variance and not intentional. I'd need to see high res photos between V1 and V2 helmets to see if the paint has improved. This is my most welcomed improvement. I would love an improved deco on the helmet. The V1 helmet color was a touch zesty.

Things to look for in the V2 armor (not apparent to me yet by these photos)... The right chest plate should have no yellow weathering to it. It's the only plate out of the chest plates and ab that doesn't have yellow paint. The right chest plate also has a slight "misted" darker grey over it, which the V1 impressively had done well.

Center diamond should also be a darker green, another thing V1 got correct.

Left shoulder (with mythosaur skull) should be slightly more yellow, whereas the right shoulder should be more orange. V1 got this right in in subtle fashion. Knees should be also orange in a hue similar to right shoulder.

Left knee darts should have a red upper ring and black lower ring behind the heads. Also a check for V1.

As far as flightsuit tailoring goes, I'm not "feeling" a difference. V1 tailoring was never an issue. If the flightsuit is a touch more blue that would be more accurate, however the shade of flightsuit differs greatly depending in lighting as these last few photos show. So only a side by side V1 and V2 photo will clear this checkmark for an improvement.

I'd like to see jetpack comparisons for the paint scheme now that I see they made alleged improvements.

As of now, until higher res photos are posted, I see no striking differences other than the blades in the head of the v2 removable rocket. The blades however would be inaccurate for an ESB Fett. If you have the prototype Fett, I'd say let it be unique to that figure, as that's accurate to that version set of armor.

The truth can only be told by side by side photos.

Um who's going to get V2 if they still have the V1? Shouldn't they be thinking about the HT one?
If anything I expect more velcro & magnets.

Great pics, Korupt. :clap

Vest seems a bit whiter than the last release. The armor green doesn't look that different from V1, but you can really see the diff in the jumpsuit - the pockets are totally different. Until we see side-by-side, it's hard to say how different the suit color is. The V1 did seem like it wasn't blue enough - more a straight light grey.

What do you think is better about the pockets? The slight arc to the stitching on the front pocket? Not sure which is more screen accurate. If anything looking at my original I think they look better and have weathering on them. These look to be perfectly clean. Like you said though, really need to see a good quality side-by-side comparison photo to tell if or what the improvements are...

I don't have the v.1 Fett, but I did look over my v.2 Fett and I can attest that the armor things you say should be there are there. The flight suit does seem to have the blue-grey color. But since I don't have v.1 I can't say if it's different.

IMHO this and the Snowtrooper are Sideshows best right-out-of-the-box figures.

I didn't say the pockets were better, I said they were totally different. The flap is noticeably shorter on the thigh pockets (it's a new cut,) and the pockets are tightly stuffed in V2, making them more boxy.

How about the body?
I remember all Sideshow bodies were useless without a stand and are nothing to Hot Toys on standing on its own. Only recently they seem a bit sturdier. Batman, Scout trooper and Deadpool I think... can't remember, the last SS I got was a regular clone and they don't stand. At all.

Just playing with my DIY Fett, thinking about the HT one. It's pretty cool! They velcro'd the chest plates, there's ankle wraps and the jetpack has a grapple rocket. Forgot about some of those differences. Does the new one have magnets on the pack like the updated clones did?
