:slap Why have the red arm at all then?

Honestly, I had no problem with the change--he had a silver leg most of the time. But I don't know why it had to be commented on and then ultimately replaced? Just silliness (though that's C-3PO--if he's not worried about Leia's laundry drying properly on Hoth he's worried about his appearances).

This is one of those rare instances where I think it was all about merchandising and giving Threepio a TFA-specific look to sell. Of course, they didn't bother with R2.

It was for pure $$$$. Most StarWars collectors aren't going to go out and buy another 3 3/4 C3PO, lord knows we've seen enough of them. So how do you get the diehard collector to shell out $7+ for a basically unchanged character?
I may have thought otherwise had they spent even 5 seconds explaining it.

Speaking of just the movie, Daniels' voice having changed so much was more jarring than the red arm (sneaky marketing that they got the gold one back in by the end, though :lol). Not that it's a fault or anything. Just weird how different it was to even the prequels.

I think people need to settle down with their "mine's bigger than yours" crap.

As has been stated by those able to be mature enough to accept it, there are pro's and con's for both.

Here's the Tama on the left and a screen grab straight off Ep4. And don't start with the lighting, lens aberration, etc. The SCULPT is what we're talking about. As an example, anyone that can't admit how bad the area around the eyes is, is simply fooling themselves.

Judge for yourselves:

In fairness they're not the best images to be making comparisons with. For me the perfect 1/6 figure doesn't exist, maybe one day it will but in my world the tamashi 3po (inaccuracies and all) is still the finest 1/6 scale SW figure made thus far..View attachment 237460

The plastic clips that hold them in place look sooo cheap.
Never had a damaged item before.Do they send me a new arm,I live in uk.

just picked mine up... the broken arm piece is in two separate parts ( gold part from rest )so I'm thinking that the glue was weak, plus a piston was out of place, I was able to snap the piston back but can see the poor thin cheap plastic that was used, it looks like a " U" shape that clips the pistons on to the arm. I also have the Tama... The head sculpt on the Sideshow IMO is better but it stops right there! the mid-section on the Tama has wiring and looks real on the sideshow. the paint on the Tama is awesome on the sideshow its ok, I'm no paint expert but I see ripples and other stuff in the paint it does not look seamless like the tama and the thumbs on the sideshow are awful, I tried turning them but I'm afraid they will break. like I said its only my opinion but the Tama overall is alot better. for the price I say its so-so ... just my opinion

Will do lol Just noticed it too. Here you go.

The SS 3po turned out great, looks excellent! If i didn't have the tamashi i'd pick one up.

I gotta admit the SS version looks pretty good. I have the tama so won't be picking this up. I'm only sticking with HT for now, but if I didn't have the tama, I would be tempted to get this.

Send them a photo of the damage and see what they will do for you.

I thought that the comment in the movie was a tad silly and awkward too. I didn't mind the red arm, but now that someone pointed out that it's back to being gold... makes it kind of pointless.

with some more time with him and being over the qc issue with my 3po I think he is pretty good, just a little more delicate than I thought, I applied a tiny dab of glue the the piston clip and the broken arm piece and it worked fine.. just guys please be careful with the arms...

I think the Sideshow C-3PO looks spectacular. The only thing left is for Leia to come in and complete the cast.

Nice display and cabinet!

Where did you get this display case from?

I noticed the sliding glass door so I don't think it's from IKEA... It's really wide and deep enough for two rows of Hot Toys. Although I did notice the mirror does not cover the entire back.
