I wonder if I should just order TFA Han online, don't think I'll be able to find him in stores. All I saw this past weeks, tie pilot, resistance trooper and the usual peg warmers ..Finn and Zuvio

Sure if you are sick of hunting them in local store like I am, this is the same in my country as well, because stupid hasbro only allow one of each per box, so many local sellers either jack up the price or force you to buy the whole set. And you can never get the popular ones from authorized retailers (like Toysrus, which is the only one in my country) because you'll never be as fast as the scalpers.

Haven't seen dig-in-the-heels pegwarmers like Finn and Zuvio since the days of Neimoidian Warriors.:lol

Very awesome job on the repaint. Did you strip the old paint from the portrait? If so, what did you use? Denatured alcohol?
thanks for sharing

Thanks, I did not strip the old paint, in fact for Han I just "enhanced" the features (eyes detail, wrinkles, shades, lips color) with markers (Gundam Real Touch) and coloring pencil, for the hair I just painted over the original brown hair.

Ah I was wondering how the face on Han looked better besides the hair..nice work:clap

Hmm don't have any Gundam markers, can you suggest what colors you used that I can substitute paint for

Bought a bunch of FO Stormtroopers off a seller, now I'm skeptical if the ones I've bought are bootlegs since I've bought it off him quite cheap. Is there anyway to check if it's authentic?

Were they from china?

Isn't all of them from China? :rotfl Jokes aside, it's a HK seller.

The seller mentioned that it's original and he threw the boxes away, so all items were loose. It feels weird upon inspection. There's time stamps and copyrights on both feets though.

Probably not bootlegs per se, like Lipsmack said, more likely rejects or test runs. Use to order DCUC from HK sellers all the time. When you get them, if the paint is good and doesn't rub off and looks as good as your packaged figures, go with it. Seller had good feedback? If so, all good. No one truly knows what's going on with this type of stuff. They could be bootlegs, but bootlegs from the original dies are just unauthorized runs! You see all the stuff on 1/6th Kit website? All that HT quality stuff may be bootlegs, but seems it is too close to the authorized parts to be from different tools, let alone, different sculpt masters. Just compare it, hopefully it's fine.

Wow, didn't know such things even exist! Thanks for the new knowledge! :lol

Just got a BS Han Solo, it has a good sculpt, it even feature his smirk, but the paint app is sloppy as usual, and the hair color is totally wrong, so I repainted him a bit, and I did Chewie before, and now they look quite nice together~

These are really amazing! How did you get the backgrounds in your pics, if I may ask?

The other give away is something you won't know for a couple weeks. The bootlegs (or 'un-authorized runs' as it was quite accurately described) often do use the original molds, but use inferior materials. You may notice (I say 'may' because these are not very heavy so maybe it wont be obvious) that the figures begin to sag/bend or break at the joints over time.

Actually I'm from Hong Kong and I could weigh in on that, these are definitely not originals, I see these in a few local stores all the time, compare to the real BS, they have noticeably inferior paint jobs (maybe less on the troopers as they just black paints), you can see from the below China shopping site that they only go for 55RMB a piece, so roughly about $10.

other than the FO stormies, they also have a few others like Darth Vader and Maul, I've seen the packing of DV and DM have the wrong name on the barcode underneath (it says Han Solo on the DV packing, and Sandtrooper on the DM packing), I bought a bootleg DV just for customization, I can tell you the quality is really bad. But the thing is they are cheap, so if you are looking to build a fleet of these, these are fine I guess.
