1/6 Hot Toys - BvS: Dawn of Justice - Batman

I think this originally used the infamous HT Fatsuit that we all come to expect, but after the prototype concept in the release shots, I think they tightened the Fatsuit to this version.

I imagine it will get tweaked even more by next year

The MOS fig was originally pretty chunky and thick looking, and they fixed that completely in the final product. Batman will probably turn out the same way, no reason to think it won't.

I don't really know what to make of the figure's physique at this point, but looking at some photos of Affleck, I would say it's not that accurate. However, I recall what people are saying about MoS, and they're right. So anything can happen. However, if we don't see changes toward release, then we have something to really worry about

Yup, original Promo was chunky. I almost cancelled my PO and decided to just stick with the Sideshow PF.
But the final HT MOS spanked the PF.

The old proto looked he shared a lot of happy meals with Batman.

These newer pics look better than the promo, but still needs a bit more 'tightening', if we can call it something. Muscles need a bit more bulkiness.

The armored version looks great. That is a definite buy.

But the final HT MOS spanked the PF.

Cue the influx of people who are going to say "Reeve made me believe, Cavill didn't!" but that MOS scene when he first began to fly, wow. What a rush, what a spectacle.

Indeed. Especially since the Nolan Batman movies had more hope...which worked in those films surprisingly (considering Nolan), but it should have been reversed. Reeve and Keaton's films had it right.

Hot toys openly admitted they used the terminator 2 dx body for the proto shots when those photos were released.
They were showcasing the headsculpt and costume

Still, I think I'll wait until in hand pics start to appear before ordering anything.

I didn't "hate" MOS, but yeah, the "theme" of the movie was a mess. I get what they were going for, but that doesn't mean that I have to like it...

MoS is one of those movies that is not inherently bad, but a lot of stuff went wrong. I feel like the average person may have a Love-Hate relationship with it. The hype, and Nolan helping did not do it favors, along with the love for Reeve, who's first two films are still great.

For me, it comes down to the fact that it had to set up both the DCEU and re-invent Superman for a new generation while also not alienating the old fans. It's just that Snyder wasn't the right man for the job IMO.

@creasy, I didn't know that.

My response was mainly in reference to @Remy stating what I thought was obvious to most; HT showcases things in a preview manner, and that what they show does not always reflect what you get (in a good way).

Often enough people complain and complain and complain about something, only to be proven wrong when those in hand show how great whatever it may been turned out.

So much like in this instance, yeah the stock photos were 'God' awful, however as we see now, the figure will look great and only get better as they tweak it prior to release.

Whilst Begins and TDK remain fantastic films, ultimately I don't feel Nolan understood who/what Batman/Bruce Wayne really is.
It seems abundantly clear from the few snippets we've seen so far from Snyder that this version of Batman is going to be a lot more comic accurate.

Egh, I wouldn't agree with this wholeheartedly.

I most certainly believe Nolan has given us the most screen accurate Bruce Wayne to date. His Batman lacked the detective skills he's known for, however the duality and agony in being Bruce is most certainly present.

And with the Dent Act taking out organized crime, it left the GCPD available to handle the lesser, disorganized crime in the city.

The city needed Batman in response to bigger threats. Those threats were organized crime initially (much like in Detective Comics 27 and on, as well as Frank Miller's Year One), but as he handled organized crime, super crime became rampant making him needed more so.

Snyder's will definitely be comic accurate to the universe that Miller has established in All Star and The Dark Knight Returns.

I personally, as someone that does not like Superman, enjoyed Man of Steel a great deal.

I wasn't talking about the story itself, I was referring to the whole "hope" theme that Snyder tried to evoke. For my money, Superman didn't instil hope anyone. All he did, was destroy, destroy, destroy. I'm not faulting him for that though, that was more Zod's fault. What I absolutely hated was the scene in the Kent Farm, where he straight up flies Faora through a damn factory, making it explode in the proccess.

I mean, WTF was that? People may have been there or in the surrounding area. Animals maybe. Heck, maybe the factory contained some dangerous substances, who knows?! But instead of, oh I don't know, going through anywhere else besides there, he decides to go through the damn factory.

I won't comment on the movie anymore, because like I said, I didn't hate it. All I'm saying is that for a movie about "hope", Supes surely didn't give me the impression that he's a saviour. Then again, that's what the mafisted Jesus metaphors were for...
