Does the chestbox on the HT vader light up like the SSC? Don't know if that impacted the sizes of the SSC chestbox, but let's remember that lights up! I do think the helmet sculpt looks better, but aside from that, certainly not leaps and bounds. I am thinking about kitbashing between the two, but I would honestly prefer having the light up features on the chestbox and belt from the SSC figure and keeping that on my kitbash then having the voice fx and knowing I can't access them. You know it would be easier on my brain knowing it's not there then knowing it's there and the amount of trouble you have to go through for the effect. The SSC figure is actually pretty easy to trigger the lights and it looks cool. Also not a big fan of voice sounds anyways.. and if I was I would be more interested in getting R2 to make sounds.

Didn't think the chest is lit up in ANH?

What can I say that hasn't been said a million times? You're the man, para. Great, great, great pics. And that is some top notch '77 Vader futzing right there. The placement of the chest box is perfect and the shoulder armor looks so much better and more accurate here. Well done!

Thanks Fiend, really appreciate it.

No it didn't.

:bow:bow:bow Outside of futzing I'm not doing a damn thing to this figure.... Well, maybe swap gloves, but that's a BIG maybe as the Saber effect will then be a no-go.

Thank you for the pics, Param!!!! :rock

Hands on his ****ing hips like a BAWSE.

That's what I was waiting for. :clap

:lol

I've taken the wire out of the tunic too.

Bit of futzing and he's perfect! These couple of photos will be the only time I use the light up sabre. Just too much fuss to set up for me.

that's like saying.. Fett doesn't shoot his gun in ANH, so it shouldn't have a shooting light/sound effect. Lolz? They are lights, they light up. :slap

It's a different chest box than the one in ESB and it never lights up in ANH so It makes sense that they didn't bother--however, I admittedly wouldn't have minded if it was optional. I like the light-up feature on the Deluxe and am considering getting that chest box to change up Vader a bit on occasion.

It's isn't like that at all. Would you have Keaten Batman 1 as a standing for Keaton from Batman II due to the armor change or vice versa? no. It's a design change.

You guys are making it really difficult to hold out for a ROTJ version!!! Must...Resist!!!!

I have mine on Ben right now. I just like the way the hand looks on the hilt as it's natural in appearance, and not too tough to flip on and off.... Vader isn't that way easy then? Sad to hear that they dropped the ball on the switch for the voice function.... could have honestly done without that feature anyway had it saved us 20-30 bucks but now knowing it will likely be seldom used it really seems like a waste. :lol

Honestly, I found it such a hassle to switch the arms over it's just not worth it (for me) unless you're going to display him like that for a while. Ben is quite straight forward and I'd of thought Luke easier still.

Um, what? Lol. They are lights on a chestbox. That's not a design change. They didn't light up. Perhaps somebody forgot to turn them on, or at that time propmakers didn't install the lights or the batteries were dead during those scenes. But they ARE lights for the chestbox, so we are not talking about complete different costumes here.

But like TonTon said, if they didn't lightup I can see we would interpret that as to why they didn't do it, or maybe there is another reason they didn't want to do it. For me though I think it would be cool if they did. And if you don't want lights or think it's so inaccurate.. you just wouldn't light them up. But for example, if it's a car with headlights, and they can light up... that's cool. If it's a chestbox, and they have lights, and they can light up... cool. :monkey3

I personally would've wanted that over the talking vader. Like I said the only thing that I would've loved to make sound is R2. Because now it opens up another door... well why doesn't Obi Wan say "If you strike me down.. " etc. I just don't think it's necessary for a display figure.

Loving the pictures from everyone.

My only problem with this is that he will be a bit to tall for my current display cabinet. :(

So is the tunic better for it? Or does it flair out now?

Yes it is much easier to work with now but where it's had the wire in it for a while, it has changed the 'natural' drape. But as I say, you can get it looking much better with greater ease now.

I may have peed myself a little....checking. Yep, peed...

A good time to repost this again then...

This Vader's gone from a "don't think I want this", to a "must have this" !
