1/6 Hot Toys - MMS 279 - Star Wars Episode IV: 1/6th scale Darth Vader

The figure's the best in scale 1/6th we've seen yet. The only real issue is the size of chest box, as far as I'm concerned.

Helmet = let's say it is ok, could be better though
Chestbox = too small
Belt = too low and seems the lateral boxes a tad too small
Gloves = horrible
Height = again too tall

I don't think this is the Vader for me. I really want an ultimate Vader but not to shell $400 and more on this. Sorry HT, try again

Putting aside the obvious nitpicks(those wee hands) he looks fantastic in these pics and the height looks pretty accurate. It seems they've ran wire through the hem of the cape and tunic which is a nice touch,great for dramatic posing. Looking forward to better in-hand pics

I'll never say that this is not a great figure, but I think that this first out of box picture reveal that it don't capture the anh vader particular body and armor proportion. Hope that in the proper hands it can became more iconic!

And look how close the belt utility boxes are to the buckle on Vader in A NEW HOPE

are the boxes able to move closer to the buckle on the Hot toy? or are the glued on that spot?

And the chest armor silver should be duller color not so shiny bright silver

They are moveable from the look of it. Show up in different spots in different photos.

I echo matt s, am glad I still have my ss anh Vader for the chest box, maybe the cod piece port over might be in order.

Not sure what to do about the girly fingers tho'

Whoever is the owner of this Vader, then congratulations, you have one of the most accurate ANH Vaders out there. That looks so spot on to me.

I don't see a height issue with this Vader. A 6' man should come to about Vader's nose -- but that assumes he's somewhat hunched forward as he is much of the time in ANH, head jutted forward aggressively. However, if he's standing up tall, like in the Dearth Star hangar picture below then we can see that troopers and officers seem to come up to Vader's tusks...

Picture got shrunk but hopefully you can see the red line over the tops of the troopers and officer's heads and where it cuts into Vader (this doesn't take into consideration that they may have cast a shorter officer and troopers specifically for this shot)...

I don't see a height issue with this Vader.

It's only a problem if it's still the same height as the SS ones. Seems a touch smaller though. The photo above he's directly next to the short trooper so that's probably not the best shot to look at. Main thing that bothers me in that photo is how the stormtrooper looks a little bit bulkier than Vader.

Anyone whos gonna get him and has the ssc vader post some side by side pics asap. Need to see scale difference before i make final decisions.
