Is the light up lightsaber just self contained to the hilt and blade or is there a hand permanently connected to it as well?

I have to admit this head sculpt looks real at times. I have it on a true type body with all ss clothing and the hot toys boots and it looks like a still from the movie. I need to get the hands when they become available on secondary market.

Wish the beard was more of that ginger/white combo instead of the grey with a little even white frosting.

I quoted you yesterday saying the hands were available on Toy Anxiety. Probably gone by now. Just trying to help. Excellent figure too.

Alright, you sold me on this guy:lol

Any coupons out now though?

I ordered earlier in the week through the midtowncomics app. Came to $198 shipped as you get a discount on your first purchase through the app.

Cheaper than Sideshow even with a coupon if you're not in NY, though technically just about the exact same price if you factor in SS rewards.

Awesome figure. Here he is in my office. Minimal futzing and taken with my cellphone camera. Love it!

Of the current crop of Original Trilogy figures, Old Ben is the one that just doesn't completely win me over, based on the photos posted. I think the issue is with his eyes. He appears to be squinting too much and not how I remember Sir Alec G. in the films.

But I know that I'll eventually pick him up regardless... :gah:

^^:lol

So I got this figure today and it is an absolutely beautiful looking figure. The under robe material doesn't bother me (they're maybe a bit too light in color) but I never had the SS figure. I like the outer robe material (reminds me of the SS Vader deluxe robe, drapes really well).

The likeness...I know everyone says it's improved in hand but I have to say it's exactly what I saw in all the photos. Maybe from a few feet away the likeness gets better. :p I saw some angles beforehand in photos where there was indeed a bit of Guinness so having it in hand is nice because you can rotate and tilt the head and find those angles.

Anyhow, I knew I'd still be happy with this one knowing full well it would not turn into a dead ringer in hand. He could use a little more paunch, but not sure I'll bother.

One issue I noticed is there are some strange lines in the grip hands. Anyone else have that?

Finally got "Obi-Wan Kenobi" today. This is my favorite pose for him. Best I could get him to look really.

My opinion bumped slightly from generic old guy to "that kinda resembles Kenobi in a way but I know it is not him."

I will keep him just to have all the OT Hot Toys main cast of characters. He will be back corner, hood up... or maybe battling Vader in battle of the misfit Hot Toys.

Yeah, that's an issue with many HT grip hands unfortunately - the first ones I really noticed it on were the Indy grip hands, but I think they have a modular system where different thumbs can be inserted into the mold to make slightly differently posed gripping hands (there's a lot of subtle unique variations like for example the HT Marty-gripping-sunglasses hand.) The seam is really obvious, so it's really not a great system.
