No they will give you the option to take 20% off the items worst case. Or let you cancel the order.

This sale was going on over 14 hours before the buzz kicked in. That tells me there was not significant activity on the inventory until a large spike triggered the warehouse.

Funny their "3rd party" is probably some poor schlub that runs a hosting site down the street and uploaded the wrong pricing algorithm over night.

Why?...

Because they think its an affront to SSC to show how much they spent somewhere else. I don't think it needs to be a Pop vs SSC thing, and it definitely doesn't lend itself to thinking that SSC now owes everyone some kind of deals or points to make up for this. People got decent deals, and I guess they can't just be happy with it. I guarantee someone takes the total amount and tweets to SSC like "look how much you could have had if your deals were better"

I'll also add that it is quite a lie to say RRP because for many of the items it was never priced at that. So that means Falcon, that was discounted weeks ago, didn't get the 20% at all.

Yup... as I thought... unless the 3rd party decides to take responsibility and take the hit.... (if that is what I got... they use a 3rd party to run the site... or are they using a 3rd party to investigate this?)

they are pretty much cancelled.

Blaming a 3rd party is usually the first step before delivering some pretty bad news.

How is it no fault of Popcultcha? If a 3rd party is responsible for hosting their webstore, then the burden of responsibility still falls on Pulpcultcha as the 3rd party company is working for them.

I looked at the site but never really saw the kind of deals people were talking about. I didn't bother ordering just in case it was a glitch. Was it?

People shouldn't complain when merchants cancel orders because of glitches within a day or two.

No we were just having a laugh at how much we'd spent before the site was shut down. They will cancel the orders no doubt.

not that simple, because they use paypal for all US transactions they can't just charge more to your paypal account... so they would either have to honor it or cancel it...

Incorrect! I simply thought it would be funny to see how much everyone spent today before we all get canceled!! When I started the thread it had nothing to do with sideshow.

Agreed, I've only bought figures from SSC and 1 from BBTS (only because it was already sold out from SSC), so if anything, it definitely put this store on the radar now for browsing for deals/selection.

I'm not sweating if I get the the one order cancelled that was 40%. That was a nice find but not something I was screaming for with the bat signal and speederbike. I made hay this morning when I got a bunch of OT Stormtroopers for 20% off. (at the correct sale price)

All online retailers have the right to cancel orders and refund any payments taken.
