Shadows and blur will do wonders for a likeness. :) Even HT's Indy will look like Ford under well done lighting.

Never underestimate the power of light and shadow. These sculpts are created by amazing artists and casts of the original are reasonably easy to replicate. But finding a painter hiding in the factory with the skill of JC Hong is just about impossible. If you can highlight the sculpt with careful lighting, you can almost transcend what may be slightly lacking in the paint apps (as good as most HT paint apps are).

Cranky old man strikes again. What a surprise.

I have this figure and it looks fantastic. Maybe it doesn't look just like the image you have engrained into your brain, but it looks just like Harrison Ford as Han Solo in Star Wars ep 4.

But... isn't the image you have engrained into your brain Harrison Ford as Han Solo in Star Wars ep 4?

So... if it "doesn't look just like the image you have engrained into your brain"... does that mean it's a bit off? Confused.:dunno

Toy anxiety will have them soon with reasonable prices as the figures are about to ship from Sideshow. Follow their thread here and jump on whatever item you want as items sell out fast.

Hello from Toy Anxiety!! https://www.sideshowcollectors.com/forums/dealers/36888-hello-toy-anxiety.html

Yeah, there's been a few deals here and there for this fig and parts on eBay, but in general it's been insanely high prices.

It means people usually have specific photo stills or screen shots that are lit a certain way for reference, and they try to compare the toy figure to those images, and if it doesn't match up perfectly, then it's not a good likeness, in their eyes.

The figure looks just like HF as HS in ep 4 with the expression it comes with. It doesn't look like him when he's shouting to Chewie or smirking at Leia, it looks like him with a neutral expression. Keeping in mind there are a million small variances of any one persons' "neutral expression".

All that said, it's a wonderful figure. The best ever overall to date by far.
