He looks overweight in some of these photos, and the suit looks baggy. I'll wait for the ROJ version -- assuming the unmasked version resembles the onscreen actor. I guess giving him his original eyebrows is too much to hope...

The last string of photos looks like a bad over-weight cosplayer.

To be honest, ROTJ Vader kinda resembles an overweight cosplayer.

They always do... I have a feeling (unless there is some serious QC issue) that Vader will be very well received. For all it's faults the ANH Vader sold for close to $300 until Sideshow announced the v2.

Yeah, it's amazing how the SSC ANH Vader has gone down in price. It was like HT Joker DX for a while.

I just like the ESB look better, but I'm 100% certain the HT ANH production figure will look way better than any of these pics so far. HT Han is no home run, but he looks better than the earlier pics of that V2 sculpt.

What is the point of ht getting this license and then doing vader not much better than anyone else? I mean if this were IM they would get everything right. :slap Its true we havent seen the real deal/final version, but we shouldnt have to worry about it looking bad either. I know i keep bringing it up about the price but i cant help it! Every time i see that crappy proto i cant help but think: Why is this $300? I would pay 300 for an authentic darth vader, i'm not paying 300 for a vader interpretation :lecture

Ya'll really do think the SS version is better? I think you guys will be eating your words (not that such a thing ever happens on the internet of course).

I don't have proof of course, not yet anyway but I am so confident that Hot Toys will make a better product that I sold my SS version to fund this one.

Yep, I sold off my Deluxe, too, and am feeling that same confidence. SSC's was nice but I'm sure HT's will blow it away.

That's a pretty nice angle for the helmet. The suit still has that licorice look that the SS V2 had in some of the early photos. Will probably look fine under normal lighting though.

The deluxe was great and you got a lot of bang for your buck. But in terms of materials used and finishing, Hot Toys will alway be that bit better. This has sounds and flippin light up saber.

It's the same old routine around here. It's crap because of this, that or the other until it comes out and is in your hands...then it's amazing. Some folks just don't do history I guess.

Case in point is Chewbacca, what a turn of events that's been.

Does PEZ do crow flavoured candy now? ;)

Picture looks like a PEZ head, not that I think the actual figure will be. A lot of these pictures show a helmet that seems to ride high above the shoulder line. NOT very ANH.

But as I've said above and from the beginning, I am convinced it will be better than the SS one.... so I believe its poor pictures, not a poor figure.
