Hot Toys - Iron Man: Mark III (Stealth Mode Version)

I actually really love the look of this armour. Has an anime feel to it. I'm sticking with the red and gold MKIII as it will be my definitive IM. And it comes with that Stark head sculpt which will be a first for me. But this looks very unique and will make a nice addition to those major IM collectors out there.

I really do like this armor but not enough to spend the 300+ price tag for it. Having said that I don't see this losing too much value on the secondary.

I'm getting it and using $55.00 in rewards, hopefully that will bring this under $300.00.

Re: Hot Toys - Iron Man: Mark III (Stealth Mode Version)

Big picture though, iron man is their best selling line. Think how many billions of people there are in the world and how limited their production of figures are. The volume on these figures is in the several thousands of at best. They aren't catering to completists and they don't have to. The diversity in the suits appeal to different people so there are a wider pool than just completists going after these.

These exclusives are slam dunk sellouts for them so they will continue to put these out until they stop being sellouts.

As for you jumping onto collecting all of the suits and not liking the variants, they kind of laid the road for what was coming a long time ago, so it's not like there wasn't fair warning.

And his argument is kinda off. He's complaining about the amount of variants and saying it should only be on screen stuff. That's how I read it anyway. Which is silly. They have done 30 plus on screen items and like 4 not on screen. That's a pretty limited amount of variants, and when you factor in they are spread out over 6 years, that like one "variant" every 1.3 years. That seems like more then enough time in between them.

I really like the base cover for this. I know it's just printed but I like it more then the Aou one. Neat look.

Re: Hot Toys - Iron Man: Mark III (Stealth Mode Version)

I feel like the timing on this release is just wrong. Mark VII stealth released this year and the Mark III diecast just came out as well. I'm not saying this thing doesn't look good, but other than the completionist, how many people honestly would feel the need of buying this if they already purchased one or both of the previously noted?

I've got both Mark VII Stealth and Diecast Mark II, and I am getting this!

Me too! I've wanted it since they announced the original blue stealth figure that was supposed to come with a coffee table book years ago. I'm glad they revived it with this one!

On par pricing with the other diecast figs. I thought it would have been more too.
