It feels like there's a lot of negativity in these threads for The Force Awakens figures which I'm not sure I understand. Some people seem determined to hate the new film no matter what. Granted I know we've been burned once by the Prequel Trilogy but everything about this film seems like it's going in the complete opposite direction of those films.

I am excited and optimistic for the film. Absolutely love the designs thus far....

Well being people bought up all the original stuff so quickly, and only secondary markets remained, then yes....i suppose if you could find them at retail it was not bad..

Yeah the comic book stores wanted crazy prices, but retail was fine from what I remember.

I kind of hate that Sideshow decided to do their Force Friday at Midnight Pacific Time. I realize their office is located in that time zone. So their time does make sense. However, other retailers are launching at Eastern Time, which is much more friendly for those of us not in the Pacific time zone that have to get up early the next morning.

Ugh that Saber!!! I just can't get past that. Disney is all about the $$$.. So to me it's a bad design for a cash grab. Lucas had plain old sabers then the dual Saber and that was it (not counting Dooku or Ventress' curved hilts). It was the design of the hilts being cool unique and different that made me like them. First we saw the Inquisitors Saber design on rebels, terrible, then Ezra's design with a stun gun built in, ok he's a kid and it's Disney so he can't kill anyone but still whatever, now the cross pommel just waiting for Kylo Ren to accidently kill himself . Will anyone have a regular old saber other than Luke's 30+ year old hilt they're running around with?? All about the $$$$$$ Disney + Star Wars = $$$$ the pitch at board meetings.

My best GUESS is that Kylo's saber is DARTH VADER'S old saber.

I'm surprised I've never heard this theory.

If you look closely, Kylo's saber hilt is BURNT, damaged and has some kind of homemade repair job going on. If you look UNDERNEATH all the repair job pieces, you see Vader's saber hilt. The bottom of it extended down and held together with wires, screws, etc.

I'm GUESSING that he found Vader's saber at the gravesite, along with Vader's helmet.

So he HOT-WIRED and rigged the saber to get it working again, and the cross-part is some kind of exhaust ports for the unstable and excess plasma shooting out from the crackling blade.

I really think I'm right on this...

I agree. And I think it will be cool in that forest battle that vaders and
Luke's sabers will be battling it out again.

How does doing a different design equal a cash grab? That makes no sense to me. It doesn't matter if it's exactly vaders with two extra buttons or curved or this...it's going to sell. But, if they all where exactly the same how does that visually distinguish them. Has nothing to do with "cash grab" and everything to do with visual distinguish. Collectors man. If it's not exactly what they would like the come up with more conspiracy theory's then alien abductees.

For those still in the Dark about Kylo...


Kylo Ren obtained his name in the mysterious group, Knights of Ren, which works under the powerful Supreme Leader Snoke. The young warrior is an admirer of the dark lord Darth Vader and the the Dark Side.

His mask which is inspired by Darth Vader and his multiple layers of unconventional black colored costume all shrouded the character in mystery. Furthermore, his self-made crossguard lightsaber is as dangerous, fierce, and ragged as the user himself. Kylo Ren is not your typical villain, as he is quite a complex character full of emotion, but the true story behind him will only unveil when Star Wars: The Force Awakens hit the theatres.


So now you can be a Darth... or a Ren.

Darth Ren would be the ultimate.
