You would think people could use their brains a bit more but it just doesn't happen.

I'm sorry, but the guy who blindly defends Sideshow no matter what is criticizing people for not using their brains?

Gandalf looks like a very nice figure, but I still see nothing here that is markedly more complex than the other outfits they've done for much cheaper.

Whoa there icruise. There's a saying, those that can, do, those that can't teach. I guess that goes for thinking too. :lol

I'm a step ahead of you icruise, he can read what you post, I'm on his ignore list. He wont read a think I post. :lol :monkey5

Sorry...these pictures were taken months before anything had been sculpted. These are WIP progress pictures, and I was trying to see what he might look like with a staff.

Nicely done! And no need to apologize, it's fairly obvious those are WIP shots. There are more layers to his costume than I had imagined. In the movie his robes look old and threadbare, at least in close ups. I'm wondering if this same fabric (on prototype) will be used on the final version, and whether his costume will be weathered or not. Assuming it is, will his clothing be made to look old and worn, in addition to soiled and weathered?

I don't blindly defend them no matter what. Someday some of you will get that but I do realize there are slow learners out there. :lol Honestly, at this point I don't even bother replying to many of the comments like this because I talk about quite a few SS items I don't like.

It doesn't? Think you might need to go look again at the pic from the blog. There are several layers there with detail that I'm sure is lost in these pics compared to some of the cheaper figuers out there. I realize that some think the Buck should make it cheaper but it doesn't "always" work that way, and they choose not to look past the first impression of the outfit.

Stop having an opinion Josh, seems it irritates others

I know. Its horrible. :lol

That's rich. The message I got from his post was that anyone who disagrees with him is "not using their brain." You don't find that the teeniest bit condescending?

That's not what I said nor what I meant. So the issue "you" have with me is one you created on your own. :)

I tried the multiquote button on this and it makes it a little easier. Nice! :rock

I initially cancelled mine, but since it took about 7 years for the exclusive to sell out :)monkey3) I finally relented and ordered again using Rewards Points to make mine about $65. I wouldn't pay a penny more than that for it, though. I just can't reconcile the price difference between this figure and, say, Aragorn or Palpatine.

All right, fair enough. It wouldn't be the first time I've done that. I've got a bad cold and it's made me cranky.
