Wasn't all that into it myself, but surprised nonetheless...

I'm not overly impressed with Ironhide to be honest. I don't like the kibble on the back of his forearms, or his hip flaps. I also think his head is a little too small or thin. I like that he comes with the sled though.
I am really impressed with the Devastator though. It looks so much better than the Hasbro and SDCC versions for me.

Devastator's going to be 18 inches or there abouts.

Ironhide looks pretty good, but the hipflaps look out of place and something is off about the proportions. I think that the problem is that it almost looks too long. Like the cab/arms/head should sit a bit lower then it does now.

Also the MP Optimus Primal news is utterrly fantastic! Know not everyone will like it but it was my G1, and its'terribly exciting and a real shame that all they showed off was a mockup for the altmode. I also really hope that they come with a Megatron to match, because Barney is still my favorite look for him and I have a huge nostalgia boner for the original toy. If they can come up with a screen accurate MP of it...Just too good. Though it will be hilarious if this happens before a MP of the G1 version does. :lol

One bit of sad news came out of that panel, apparently:

MASTERPIECE GORILLA CONVOY/OPTIMUS PRIMAL – Next year celebrates the 20 years of Beast Wars, and is the “year of Masterpiece Beast Wars”

:( I'm sure kids of the '90s will be happy, though.

Ironhide = Looks a lot nicer than the Voodoo Toys effort.

The G1 toy gets a lot of flak for not looking like the cartoon but that's because the mold was designed several years before Transformers ever existed as a brand. Like the rest of the early G1 toys Ironhide was released first in the Diaclone era and the storyline for that was akin to other mecha franchises where the robots were piloted, some of the toys included little figures.

The pilot angle was scrapped for the rebrand so instead of having Ironhide and Ratchet headless, Sunbow redesigned them for the cartoon whilst the toys remained the same.

Beast Wars = This has really come from nowhere as none of the rumor mongers who claim to have insider knowledge were saying anything other than the usual names. Beyond a handful of character names I'm not familiar with the era but it's nice to see Takara trying something different.

easy pass on that....looks like 3rd party (likely all fans toys) gets my money.....Seems Takara has no interest in making or completing G1 anytime soon.

Here's a first look at FT Bombshell,

There will be the option of swappable chest pieces so you can have a solid look like the cartoon or clear plastic like the original toy,
I wish they'd show a color version with the clear chest to see how it compares to Bade Cube's new collector’s editions of their insecticons.

Those red hip flaps apparently rotate round to the back. That's not confirmed as far as I know though.

Now that my initial excitement has worn off a bit, I think that Ironhide does look a bit odd, proportionally. Like he doesn't look quite bulky/stocky enough somehow. Maybe if the head were slightly larger/wider.
