That's stupid, since they have issues selling them in the US...

My thoughts exactly. I mean fair enough initially they clearly had a business plan and set out X for each area (if you will), but given that they still have stock left and there is a person wanting to spend the money, You'd think that they would be happy with the custom? :dunno

the negatives of this statue were exaggerated to the point of hysteria. While we're reading minds, don't confuse the final product with higher than prototype expectations. I still don't get how you hated even the prototype paint app. :huh :gah:

I think partly the reason the EX is still available is because the bow is vastly more popular than the shotgun... and cheaper. Also I'm not seeing a lot of these on the aftermarket, seems the people that are buying her are for the most part keeping her.

I know I'm new to the discussion, but I have to say the piece to me looks absolutely fantastic and I don't understand the 'hate'. I've watched a fair few videos and in everyone my reaction was ultimately wow . I wish I played the game a lot sooner now and purchased this piece locally.

With regard to the Shotgun:

It wasn't my most used weapon in the game. I maxed it out, but If I could choose the AK would have been my choice. That said I'm happy to pick up the EX if not to have the option to switch out the bow on occasion.

I think with the EX, they should have perhaps gone with a separate bow which you could carefully put over the statue, and or a hand holing the iconic axe.

I'm guessing it has to do with their stock allocation and shipping contracts. They have specific amounts in each of their warehouses, so EU orders ship from their EU warehouse, US orders from their US warehouse etc. They probably cannot afford to send the package from US to UK with the specified shipping cost in their system. However, I do agree that they should make an effort to work with the customer and work out an alternative way to order in this case.

This is pretty much the conclusion I came to. But yeah a little effort would have been nice as a sale is a sale, and I would have been happy to pay the extra UK shipping fee. :(

The bow would definately be my weapon of choice... I preferred playing the game stealthily. It fit the game and the character better.. (Seriously, she makes her first ever kill and drives herself to dispair. and an hour later of gameplay she is mowing down enemies with rifles and shotguns?) I do understand why for the sake of gameplay they do it that way though..

Just as if an Uncharted movie was made, the body count would probably be quite low and be necessary kills only, just like Indiana Jones, but during the length of the game you do kill a lot of people.

Yes, but early on as far as she is aware she's maybe up against a few shipwrecked 'crazy' lost souls, however as the game goes on and she nears the final goal she comes up against more then she could have imagined.

You can still use the bow, but like in any situation she adapts and uses what she has to had - If that happens to be a nade launcher then I don't see why anyone wouldn't elect to switch to that. It's all down to circumstance and the challenges at hand.

I too favored the bow, but is not to say I don't for a minute think a 'Character' like Lara wouldn't adapt and grow up fast if put in a situation like that whereby you are stranded with people whom have clearly gone insane - I don't believe it's just for the sake of game play, it's a classic case of kill or be killed and indeed a good example of how that despair could evolve into the single most prominent human trait - Self preservation.

Guys, I'm looking for this statue, but I can only find it on eBay. Since I live outside USA, Gaming Heads won't ship it to me. Can any kind soul please point me in the right direction? Cheers :D

I probably used the bow most often but the shotty is kind of a personal "real life" favorite. I actually made a pretty sweet bow based on her first one that I was gonna slip over her shoulder but I ran into trouble hanging it on her the way her arm goes across, so I had to scrap the idea. Not brave enough to drill a hole in her without knowing how the finished result will end up looking lol. Maybe I'll try to rework the idea somehow...

Might check Amazon. Also the official tomb raider store was carrying her... don't know if they still are. BBTS has her for $250, a pretty good price depending on shipping.

Where do you live? They DO send it to Europe, for example. Just ask them per email. The are going to tell you how much shipping would be. I did it by myself.

I live in Asia but I'm currently studying in Europe now so it works both ways for me. I tried their page last night and they still show the shipping cost to my country (Singapore) but I haven't actually contacted them about whether they can send a piece from their US warehouse to Singapore. Will give it a try though.

Yea I saw it on BBTS but the shipping price was about $130 to both UK and SG so I'm not sure if I'm gonna go with that.

Either way, it's $390 if I get it off BBTS or $350 if I get it used off eBay, both inclusive of shipping, and both being the non-exclusive (doesn't matter to me though). Both methods being cheaper than if I got it off GH website straight ($399).

Yeah that would be awful if it didn't quite work out to plan, but if you do rework I would be interested in seeing the finished look!

I managed to pick her (Ex) up via a fellow SSF Member :)yess:) who took delivery in the US and then posted to me in the UK.
- Fantastic piece and very glad I persisted in getting her!

I was thinking this week about how I'm disappointed in the next Gen so far and I was reflecting on the games I played I concluded this has been my favorite so far and I'm really looking forward to playing the new one

How much did you pay for the shipping, from US to UK?
These international rates are so exorbitant, anything that seems reasonable from the price of the statue itself is immediately displaced with horror upon looking at the shipping cost... such a waste imo :dunno

I was wanting to originally hang it across her back over her right arm but that meant balancing the bowstring on her forearm if I didn't want to drill- it wouldn't balance and her hair was kind of in the way so I dropped it ...but I'm thinking of hanging it over her left with the shotgun now. The wire balances nicely in the nook where her hand is. Gets in the way of her axe a little but meh. Still have to dirty up the white spots quite a bit and remeasure the wire (probably lengthen the upper to lift the bow a little higher) but this will give you an idea:

I agree 100% :rock

Absolutely. I picked up the PS4 initially expecting to be blown away, but for me personally it's been rather disappointing as you say. Atop of that I was one of those whom had issues with connectivity where my speed test (a guide I know) was horrifically poor; regardless of endless changes to try and correct it ( less then 3mb down on a 79mb line).

I've since managed to get it to around 10mb, but it's still not great.

I digress - Tomb Raider was the first and only game on the PS4 that has blown me away. It is absolutely my favorite so far and one of the best games I have had the pleasure of playing in some time.

Stunning. Just stunning.

Well it was the standard shipping to the US and then $88 to the UK so in all about $120 give or take.
- It's something you'll have to come to terms with pretty quickly when you live were we do. There really aren't may options in the EU for collectables at th best of times, and given that nowhere stocks the standard much less the EX this was just something I had no choice going with as I really wanted the piece.

The bow looks stunning! I cannot wait to see the finished version. :)

Since I only got the standard version of this piece and because the bow takes up a lot of space I decided to try and make a custom hand without the bow over the weekend. This was my second time sculpting anything (first thing I ever did are the skulls for the T-800 base seen on the same pic) and first time painting so it definitely shows, but for now I'm happy with the result. I'll probably revisit it once I get some mileage with both sculpting and painting.

Dan, that is one kick ass set up brother! :rock:rock:rock

Maybe GH makes a RotTR statue! :horror :thud: :lol

Ah thanks man! :rock :rock :rock
- It's taken a little longer then I thought to get it how I wanted it, but I'm happy with
how it turned out :D

:horror I'm pretty sure that will turn out to be a thing and then I'll have a real dilemma, as I have no more space left :thud: :lol

Hey with how it looks, I'd gladly of taken longer. That crate looks spot on! :rock

:lol That is one dilemma, watch; someone is gonna have a Snow Day available for you and you will be completely out of space! :horror :lol

Though, I do hope you are right, Lara is kickass and she needs all the statues that can be made!

Still wish I could get a Guardian of Light for a solid price. :thud:
