Also.... I've got to say... one of the cool things about this is how sleek it is. So the heavy amount of weathering is a turn off for me.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS300D11 - Avengers: AoU - Iron Man Mark 45

I don't know who's crazier, Hot Toys for charging that price or the people paying it. Look, I like the suit too, but it doesn't even come with a Stark head and costs more than the last one. Add on to that the fact of the Civil War (Bleeding Edge) suit coming out next year which already looks cooler and this just seems like a disappointment in the Hot Toys release department. But people are still crazy excited by this? Weird. This costs $75.00 more than it should. At least.

I appreciate he was never seen unhelmed in this suit, but then again he wasn't in Avengers 1 and they still tossed in a whole bare head and neck. Seems a shame to break that tradition and tempts me to wait for the Civil War version, which I believe will be a very similar design with more gold (or, if I end up preferring this look, grab one cheap when the Civil War suit hype kills its aftermarket value).

If I pick up a new Iron Man this year it'll be the diecast Mk III.

Does anyone think the Red laser thing.. they just took it off some Gundam kits? lol.

Figure looks really nice. But I'm gonna wait for the Civil War one.. or whatever RDJ's last Iron Man is. This might change though.. IDK. Still not sure which Iron Man to pick up.

Hey man, $1 is $1 to anyone holding it. It's a standardized form of currency. It buys the exact same amount of stuff from person to person.

But that doesn't mean it has the same value to everyone. What may seem expensive to you, might be a day's bank interest to someone else. And likewise, there are people out there that would be appalled at whatever amount you'd readily spend on a 12" Iron Man suit. The point is, it's all relative, and there needs to be far less judgement on these boards regarding who can and will spend what and on what. It would be horrendous for someone to belittle another person because they can't afford as many toys, but it's just as spiteful and jealous to belittle those who can.

You're entitled to decide for yourself and for your budget what makes sense for you, but consider that this is a community that spans a vast spectrum of backgrounds and incomes, but that we're all here because we find the same enjoyment in these collectibles. A little more respect would do these boards quite a bit of good in this regard.

I stand corrected :dunno I cannot for the life of me remember this shot being in the film though, then again it's been a long time since I last watched it.

Still though - 300th MMS, awesome-looking suit, biggest franchise going and no RDJ likeness? Poor form, Hot Toys. This could have been the perfect opportunity to make a Stark head surrounded by a light-up HUD, explore bold new possibilities...

Repped.

I'm quickly getting priced out of this hobby...

How can you not remember that shot? LOL.

Oh yeah, I don't want to pay $500 for a figure with special features...
