If this film doesn't prove that Theron is so beautiful nothing will...even with one arm and so f'd up at the end I'ld hit that...LOL I bet Jye would agree..

Nice to see the film's feminist message was completely lost on you. :cuckoo:
Don't sprain yer wrist! :lol

This film RAWKS! :clap

Miller knows how to make a real film...all the CGI whores in Hollywood should sit up and take notice if they could put down the coke spoons long enough.
The stuntwork in this flick is incendiary.

Repped in spirit. :lol

How did Furiosa even become his top general when all other women in that society were cows, slave workers or sex slaves.

Of course the one single female he trusted turned on him.

She's not a top general. She's an Imperator. That's her title, not name. There were a number of Imperators, including that other guy who hung off the side of the truck at first asking if they had new orders. His "top" guys were People Eater, Bullet Farmer, Rictus, and his deformed midget brother.

Also, I definitely got the vibe she'd been raped or whatever by Joe for years. He took her like the others from her home. Pretty good reason to turn.

I want to see this guy appear in the sequel...RoadWarrior_029Pyxurz.jpg
But who could play him now? I'm thinking....

Was the guitar guy and speakers bothersome.... Not really I thought it showed how messed up the time was! I thought it fit it real well. I thought the whole end was "wreck" was kind of lame.

When was the last time a character who's name was in the title of a movie wasn't the star of the movie? My point is Hardy played Robin to Theron's Batman. I think she had more screen time and I know she had more lines. I felt like the whole movie was too much like a cartoon. Some of the cars in this movie were just plain stupid looking. Another problem I had was trying to understand what the hell they were saying most of the time. I need to watch it again though because there have been great movies that I hated the first time I saw them, like Pulp Fiction and Django Unchained. Maybe I just have a problem with Tarintino movies? Anyway, I've been such a fan of Mad Max, The Road Warrior, and half of Beyond Thunderdome for so long that maybe no new movie would have lived up to my expectations.

Max was the star of the film.

People are making it sound like he was a background character, he wasn't. I think the best way to sum up his character is the way he disappeared into the crowd at the end. He was never going to go up on the platform or have some dramatic speech. He's a wanderer and a survivor.

I'd love to debate this with you but don't feel like typing that much. I just want to say this though, in the first three films, no other character took the spot light off Max. He was the sole star of those movies. If Theron wasn't the star of this movie then she at least shared the star role with Hardy. The title of the movie should've been Max and Futurama...or whatever her name is.

I think that was GM's goal, to make a full blown over the top cartoon version of RW, the chase even ended with a cgi steering wheel thrust into the screen for a big 3D finale!

He succeeded!

Regarding the bigger cars, I guess as time went on humans or at least certain gangs mastered making the stuff, especially a cult that treated cars as religion.

That didn't bug me, go figure!

But I much prefer the "smallness" and "intimacy" of RW over this monstrosity.

I simply didn't find the "Warboys" cult as great an adversary as the smaller Humungus gang.

Immortal Joe was awesome looking and sounding, I'll give them that.

Converted Warboy was as good a sidekick as the Feral kid, I'll also give them that.

I did like when IJ got upset over the botched suicide.

I loved the flick... But that scene almost ruined the whole thing! The first half of this film was damn near perfect, but that last scene ugh.

Ron Burgundy would approve yes...I will never analyze this film or care about any message...I'll just look at this one and see it as one big survival chase film...it coulda been about a clan of midgets going after Max and Furiosa protecting the last box of condoms in the world...lol..who cares

I don't see anyone complaining about the reason behind the chase. :dunno

Honestly, I'm not being fair to the movie, the problems I have involve trying to compare it to what came before, which was 32 years ago.

Once I can move on from Mel not being in the movie, a slight focus off the MM character, a new set of villains with backstory and the grandiose expansion of the chase with cgi elements, I'll be more accepting of what it is, instead of just wanting a RW retread all over again, which is there anytime I want it anyways.

Leaving for 2nd viewing in an hour.

they need to hire mel gibson for the sequel, it just needs to happen it NEEDS TO HAPPEN
