Exactly. This isn't so much a movie but rather a series of loosely connected events. Spotty foreshadowing.

The thing is, in phase 1 every film built upon the last, but phase 2 was weak **** as far as advancing the mcu (except Winter Soldier). Whedon compromised too much for the broader audience in AoU. This film was structured in a way which made the rest of the mcu films irrelevent. So, then I ask myself, why am I invested in the mcu if it's biggest tentpole movie isn't invested in the mcu?

Its more like a weekend exhaustion with the Mexican Goku announced.

I did see Age of Ultron. I thought it was badly edited and badly paced. I hope the directors cut remedies the problems.

What are things that everybody is looking forward to in Dragon Ball Z/Super? It could be character developments, new characters/villains, or continuation of something from before. Anything.

@FatHotei and @Sil, you guys hit the nail on the head for everything. I'm glad to see that there are others who have the same impressions that I took from the film.

Spoiler:

1.) Consequences don't mean **** in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Especially to their cash cow, Robert Downey Jr./Tony Stark. He could play God, literally, and walk away.

2.) I'm with Silrian, if Rogers doesn't hand Stark's ass to him in anyway during Captain America: Civil War, I'll have lost faith with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

3.) It's up to the Russo brothers to take the ball and run with it but Fiege may hold them down as well now that the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be in their hands.

People may **** on the DC Cinematic Universe now, but once they have their feet on the ground and have it going, then.. sorry Marvel fanboys, it's a wrap.

Superman alone can take out the entire Avengers (only Thor can stand a chance against him). And the Dark Knight would have files on both SHIELD AND HYDRA, including a contingency to take down each member of both teams. Before they would even know who he is. To quote Peter Dinklage from Days of Future Past, "That's just two of them."

Not sure why everyone was expecting AoU to be Civil War when Civil War is going to be it's own movie. Why have Cap and Stark tearing each other apart in this movie when that is the entire story of Civil War?

And perhaps the point is that innovation has pitfalls but that doesn't
Mean innovation should be vilified.

I understand and can jive with some of the complaints but for all the problems I'm reading here about the movie, they all share the commonality of viewing the woulda/shoulda/coulda and generally morality myopically.

@Fat exactly but I don't think that's whedons fault, it's Feigi's. Whedon's been bafflingly candid about the situation. MCU is a Feigi dictatorship.

@crisis I find it funny how marvelites champion themselves as king of the hill when there's no competition yet. The only thing close to a cb cu is DoFP and that was big succes and MASSIVE critical hit coming off of two of the worst cb movies made... And DC's only film did better than more than half of marvel's films including all of their first solo features as well as 2 sequels to those features POST avengers. In 2016 marvel will actually get competition, we'll see how they fare by then.

@Ang dbz super: I just want more and older Trunks and I would VERY much desire some female characters. Big characters, make the third revealed God a woman for example. I love dbz obviously, but I'm so tired of it being a sausage fest.

I have not seen the AOU, but I'm sorry you guys didn't enjoy it. The only MCU movie that I really enjoyed was the first Iron Man and I can't stand Joss Whedon as a writer, so I'm glad that I can skip this one.

As for the question, I'm looking forward to exploring the god concept, battling the 12 gods, Gohan, Videl, and Piccolo's raising of Pan, Goku and Vegeta banter, new techniques, Goten's and Trunks' date-life, Officer Kuririn's cracking down on thugs, Ten starting up his own Crane martial arts school, and Yamucha being killed off "Poochy-style" (Seriously, don't even include him in the series. Just have an animation cell and have the narrator give the "I'm going to my planet now" speech.)

We can't do anything about it if they decide to make Goku an exclusive, but I think we'll at least get a shot at it as a SDCC exclusive. My guess is that Mexico is just getting it early with an exclusive box . Besides, so many Mexican fans will miss out on it anyways since it's so limited and Tamashii wouldn't do that! I'd still want Namek Vegeta though!

Ftr I did enjoy big parts of it Bane and I would recommend it to anyone who wants over-the-top entertainment in this genre, it's just not a good film. If you can't stand whedon as a writer definitely don't bother though, I don't think I've ever been this buried in whedon style writing before (and I've seen more than half his oeuvre easily).

Piccolo's raising of Pan. That's actually pretty cool, he'd make her a bad ass. lmao, Yamcha is the fighting dummy in Tien's school. "Today kids we're gonna learn a roundhouse kick. Line up and practice it on Yamcha. If you wanna learn really creepy stuff, go to Chaotzu. Or Popo."

Yeah it's funny Bane if I were Mexican I'd still be mad over this release being an event exclusive .

I'm interested to see if Trunks will get the spotlight or if Goten will. I'm thinking more towards the latter because he hasn't been given as much screen time.

That's true. Female characters would be nice. Especially a female fighter. Videl was cool but, like most fighters that aren't saiyans, she became inferior. There's an interesting character from Xenoverse. Dabura's sister, I believe. I enjoyed her characterization quite a lot. I don't think she's a fighter more than a witch but it was nice seeing not having a sausage fest all the time. The 3rd god being a woman would be interesting.

I know, I'm really looking forward to the 12 god concept. They can do arcs on each god or something that leads to a huge story down the road. Those are some pretty cool insights on the characters. It'll be nice to see other characters explored. Haha, Poochy-style! That would be fantastic. (Poor Yamcha.)

Nope, not a word, which can be good or bad depending on how you look at it; on one hand that could mean that they cant say anything because it IS coming in some way, probably sdcc, but on the other hand they may be choosing not to say it wont to avoid backlash. Im hoping its the first.

Whatever will be the upcoming SDCC exclusive will be my first SDCC toy. I really wish it would be a Vegeta (my favorite character!) or a Trunks (the only one I don't have yet because there's no Datong version of him so far lol)
