Looks good but depending what kind of partnership they have with PI, this might not even be out when Avengers 3 comes out. PI put out all those samples 2 years ago and barely have anything to show for right now.

This is NOT a new company. Why do people keep saying that? This is the design arm of play imaginative. These are the same people that made every other PI iron man product to date. They are not new, have been making the figures:held the marvel license since 2006. With all the bad press PI has been getting they opted to use the CMC logo to try and trick collectors into think they are some up and coming companyZ and it appears to have worked.

I repeat...this is the same company that has previously called itself Play imaginative.

Here is a screen grab from CMC site. Notice this is the PI figure. And if u look at the bottom ticker names...what's it say? Play Imaginative. Go to PI website they even have the exact same photos. Not same product in new photos. It's the exact same photos. Stop calling these guys new. Or the future. Or up and coming. Or a new era. It's same old crappy PI with a new name.

What's the difference?

And anyway, this is pretty awesome don't you think?

Yes it's awesome.. the problem is, the conglomerate behind this prototype have a a reputation for announcing prototypes, and taking pre-orders, for very expensive, diecast figures.. yet the figure may never go into production.

On the occasions when figures have reached the market, they have frequently been a smaller scale than expected.. ie. 1/12 production figure, rather than the 1/6 or 1/4 prototypes, or the figure has suffered from QC problems.. eg. 'pink panties' straight out of the box and electical connection issues with their Avengers Iron Man Mk VII.

So, bearing all that in mind, what you have to ask yourself is: How likely is it, a massive figure like Hulkbuster, is actually going to make it into production, for a price that is anything like affordable ..and considering the complexity of the figures animatronics, what sort of QC can you expect?.. because potentially waiting 3 years for a figure that costs several thousand dollars, has 'pink panties' and with animatronics that don't work out of the box, is not very motivational.

Its a shame but imho, Comicave Studios need to work on improving PI's image in the marketplace.. rather than announcing prototypes that are even more extravagant, than PI's previous projects.

Yes I hear you but they could make a 1/6 Hulkbuster for a lesser price.

And I would love to see a 1/6 Mark 45 with a high percentage of diecast from them.

I agree with PI poor image, also i can tell you that Comicave from Dubai is pricing products far above the market price globally the dollar is the bottom line. Nice product presentation but i would rather bank my dollar with companies that think long term and collectors themselves like Sideshow, Hot Toys, 3A, Damtoys. I feel sorry for collectors in UAE. I am for brand loyalty not cheap mechanics that will be used a few times before the novelty wears and yur stuck with an expensive collectible seating in a display that could house several other art pieces from HT and SS

I did but I tend to filter out the excessive negativity. :wink1:

It's not excessive negativity when it's fact. And they did not even show a 1/6 HB. Your in every thread talking about how this "new" company will change the market. But they are not new. Have for the last ten years released figures that are MORE expensive then hot toys and have worse QC. You need to stop because other people that don't have all the facts will believe you and waste their money.

If you want to fool your self into thinking something fine. Or hope for something. But the facts and history do not support anything you are talking about. Except that the 1/4 HB at the show was cool. That's it. It won't be 800 dollars. It's not 1/6. Comicave is not new nor changing anything. They are not cheaper then hot toys. We have ten years worth of side by side product comparisons. Comicave releases figures that are 25% more expensive. They have worse QC. And statistically they make around 7% of their shown prototypes into actual figures and about 3% are close to the proto. Hot toys releases about 91% of shown prototypes and everyone has been same scale and close enough to call the same.

It pains me to say it but I'm leaning on catwoman's side, as it'd be nice to discuss what has been shown at the event instead of pages and pages of ripping a company. Motux buddy, you've made your opinion of Comicave/Pi/etc very clear in multiple threads to the point of beating a dead horse.

As a new collector, I find Motux's posts extremely informative and helpful. If it wasn't for his blunt honesty, I would've made an ill informed decision and possibly wasted money on this. Thankful he said something. I don't find him negative at all. His honesty is very refreshing.
