Just want to post pictures as a reminder of what most, if not all, of us are aiming towards in this line...

Spoiler Spoiler:

...and what blood is aiming towards...

Spoiler Spoiler:

Well for faces, there's the smirk that we've all talked about before. And maybe a more normal yelling face, akin to Normal Goku's but without the directional eyes.
For hands there's the good old "martial arts" hands. And for effects, I dunno, maybe a yellow blast? That might fit another character better, but I'd like to get them no matter who they come with. They could also give us little "auras" like these things:

These are standalone effects from a doll company, but something like this from Tamashii would be really great.

We should find out in the next few weeks or maybe even days whether or not that will be true since Tamashii is currently making their September product releases.

Actually most of the last pre-orders are opened for August, next month it's up to September and anyway the minimum of time to announce figures are 3 months (as in the case of Captain America & Hulk).

You can call it a fandub if you choose, but its not licensed and cannot be counted among the official dubs, like Funimation, Ocean, Japanese, and others.

I'm not trying to talk down TFS, I'm just saying its not part of the official product and can't be counted in certain discussions.

Yeah, you're right, it's not "official", even though, in that clip I posted, the tfs scene was more accurate to the original japanese than the funi dub. But I see your point. I do love hearing chala head chala at the beginning of my dragon ball tho.

That would be pretty cool. The problem I've always had with thinking about ki/energy effects is whether it should be in the Power Up Stage or the Blast Stage.

I would ****ing love to see an energy effect this big compared to an S.H. Figuarts but in different colors...

A final flash in the charge stage would take a lot less room on my desktop, but a massive final flash blast would be great for a diorama. I can definitely see a diorama with 19 running for his life and the final flash crashing down towards the earth.

Someone do that!

Interesting question for everybody. If there was one current figure in this line that you could improve, which one would it be and why?

Not changing the actual version of the figure but the sculpt, the articulation, the accessories, and etc.

Piccolo needs to be taller. And I was kind of disappointed that he only came with three heads. No Piccolo screaming head? Lame.

Would Ascended Vegeta fit that criteria, because I would love that. I think the only character that really got botched was Cell, because he looks like he has a thyroid and anorexia problem.

My question for you guys, is of your top 5 characters, have you gotten your definitive version of them? If not, what is it?

Mine:
1. Goku- No, my favorite is his battle damaged Namek appearance

2. Vegeta- No, Boo arc Vegeta is my favorite. It's been my most anticipated figure since I found out about the line. Final Atonement is my favorite moment in the series next to Goku's first SSJ transformation. He really wasn't a good guy until that Kid Boo fight in the Boo arc, and he's one of my favorite fictional characters because of him becoming a hero. He didn't wear the armband for Goku's funeral, so I was completely wrong. Vegeta was still a bad dude in the Cell arc.

3. Freeza- Yes!

4. Gohan- Yes! I prefer Future Gohan, but the Gohan SSJ2 transformation is a culmination of everything the series was leading up to for Gohan. Check out the Japanese version, if you haven't seen it!

5. Cell- Yes

This is my favorite shot from that final flash, really puts the power in perspective. How do you think this would look as an effect?

EDIT:

The culmination of Vegeta's arc. One of my favorite moments too. He crosses the final threshold from villain to hero. Vegeta's nature is a cold-hearted warrior and through dragon ball we see an actual change; an 180 degree shift in character. One of the most common flaws in storytelling is creating a boring main character. Like this guy:

The only reason Harry is exciting is because exciting things happen to him. He lacks character. He's too agreeable. And this is Goku's problem, imo. Writers will sometimes try to make their main character too affable; it feels good when you're writing it but it's boring on screen. We, as the audience, love conflict, we love characters with questionable morals and conflicting internal struggles. It's drama. Harry Potter would have been much more exciting if it were about Snape or Hermione.

That's why we love Vegeta; he's not only dealing with all the external bull****, like the extermination of his race, murder of his father and destruction of his world, but also the grab bag of insecurities and hang-ups he's lugging around all the time. He's one of the most human characters in the series.

So Tamashii updated their AKIBA showroom...but no DBZ stuff. :(

All Saint Seiya "Soul of Gold" and the Avengers figures (which are still amazing but still...we want Dragon Ball!).

I agree. They need to release a Super Saiyan Goku with a smirk. Hopefully Toei/Funimation, who ever, allows them to do that for Super Saiyan 4 Goku. That's when he really used that smirk the most. The current yelling face is really extreme. The SDCC face looks a lot better than the Manga though, I'm not sure why.

Which martial arts hands do you mean? The effects for Tamashii is lacking. My favorite one is still Scouter Vegeta's effects. I understood the idea of the Perfect Cell energy effect but I don't care for it. They showed decent auras at Tamashii Nations. Hopefully we'll see those by the end of this year, early next.

Actually most of the last pre-orders are opened for August, next month it's up to September and anyway the minimum of time to announce figures are 3 months (as in the case of Captain America & Hulk).

Hm, I didn't know that. I wondered what the minimum time would be for pre-orders.

I ordered on the 22nd and havent heard anything from them. :(

I haven't heard from Amazon, either. You should know before me though since you ordered earlier.

It would take up a lot of room but it would be glorious.

Piccolo needs to be taller. And I was kind of disappointed that he only came with three heads. No Piccolo screaming head? Lame.

I would like to see more Piccolo expressions but it's understandable though since he was the first release and it wasn't easy because they would have to do entire head sculpts rather than face sculpts. (I believe crisis mentioned that to me when I told him the same thing.)

Would Ascended Vegeta fit that criteria, because I would love that. I think the only character that really got botched was Cell, because he looks like he has a thyroid and anorexia problem.

I was going more for the figures from the specific time period. For example, Super Saiyan Vegeta. That's the Android Saga Super Saiyan Vegeta. What improvements would you do for that specific figure? I feel Ascended/Super Vegeta should be an entirely different release because of the body sculpt.

Visually, I really like Perfect Cell but I completely understand the thin look to him. He could have been slightly stockier.

As for my definitive version for =characters...

1.) Gohan - Yes! Super Saiyan 2 Gohan is my favorite version of the, or any, character from Dragon Ball Z. You nailed the reason why.

2.) Goku - No, but they showed the prototype for it. Super Saiyan 4 Goku is so close yet so far.

3.) Vegeta - No, Majin Vegeta is my favorite version of him. That version perfectly expresses what he represented throughout most of the series to what he became by the end of it.

4.) Broly - Yes! (Still wish the hair was greener but the quality of the figure is just ****ing astounding.)

5.) ...Difficult to answer the last one. I could honestly do another 10.

that's a nice explanation and all but some people liked vegeta from the get go, before he went through all the changes. you know why? because they like ****** bags. not only girls has a thing for them but guys too. all that macho ****. who the hell likes nice guys anyways... nah man, we want attitude.
