Re: Batman Modern Age PF

Well this is one nice looking piece, but then again I love the original, so it is no surprise I like this one. The new head sculpt is killer, but not good enough for me to buy the entire statue. I gotta say though I am a little disappointed that they didn't do something a little different with the switchout hand. Revisiting the batarang again is a little uncool as that was the EX for the original.

But...but...It's a different batarang :lol Need it need it need it :panic: :panic: :panic: I'm almost as excited for this as I am the Pinhead I ordered, little more for that one since I've been waiting so long for him and I already have a Batman.

Lol... Well I love the look, but if I was going to go for another Batman it would have to be an entirely new sculpt. The Batman on a Lion is another amazing sculpt that I like, but dang it is expensive....lol

**** JUST GOT REAL

It comes with the original Batman PF EX Batarang!

One thing that the original will always have over the new one is the Belt IMO.... Yeah I know that is what the belt looked like in the comics but the one shown in the picture looks like cheap plastic... I have always thought the belt on the original was killer.... I hate the new ones belt buckle area... Very toyish... Otherwise that head sculpt is Killer and the best of the three IMO....

Re: Batman Modern Age PF

Although I like this I really think the OG edges this one out by just bit in my book. The extra portrait and the symbol look better on the black but love the blue on the new. The head length is still off due to the cape so no change there either. Still a great PF to have on your shelf none the less.

Exactly, this same batarang makes the original ex useless. I do like the head on the new one much better than the first one. Wonder what the ES will be?

Re: Batman Modern Age PF

I ****ing love this. This might be my first DC SSC PF. Looks perfect so far.

Not really, it is a different sculpt for the batarang. I would have liked something more original.

Re: Batman Modern Age PF

Ex should be a capeless, shirtless, gloveless Neal Adams version with a desert base and a sword instead of a Batarang.:lecture

But! Since this is a Batman Thread my old Brinze age batman photoshop and the Batman of Zur-En-Arrh

View attachment 175444

That Zur-En-Arrh suit is all kinds of awesome. :lol I still couldn't believe how Morrison incorporated it into his Batgod / RIP story. Wild stuff.

Looks like there'll be a lot of ex-Hot Toys collectors selling their collections in the near future. :lol The Batman PF was my gateway drug too. As for the classic suit, I'd love to get this as this was the Batman that I grew up with. But it is lower on my priority list below Darkseid, Spidey, Nightwing, and Flash, but right above Aquaman and Balent Catwoman.

Re: Batman Modern Age PF

I gotta agree with Jaws on the look of the belt, as it's my only nit on this PF. I hope the final product would have it sculpted and painted better. The buckle IMO needs to be taller, perhaps as tall as the capsules. That way they can sculpt the part of the belt that's inside the buckle to be as vertically thick as the rest of the belt, because it is supposed to be a part of the whole.

Lovin' all the KC Superman photoshops!

Re: Batman Modern Age PF

I like him I just wish they had gone with a brand new sculpt and made him leaner which would have been more accurate to the era. Either way I save some funds by not picking this up. Congrats to those buying him. :)
