I got this and the Delorian coming around the same time. My wife is gonna give me so much s%** for these two juggernaut boxes showing up on the doorstep lol.

Price is as expected imo, it's a great looking piece that was never gonna be at a price every collector can justify. To those getting it congrats and I'm sure it will be the centrepiece of any display! Me...well I'm passing just because I've never been interested in it, I think it's almost worth the price. But i'd need to see some more evidence on range of motion personally as I'd want him posed like the promo art catching Hulks punch.

The problem I have with this is the question of how many will Hot Toys make??? I can't see too big of a production run due to its price. I used to love when Sideshow would put numbers to their production runs. Also having an exclusive with yet an even lower run. It really helped on creating the instant pre-order for me. The less made, the faster it would sell out, the more I didn't want to take the chance. That's the elephant in the room with this guy. If people think its out of reach now, what happens when PO's do sell out and it goes to a wait list?? I don't even want to know what this big fella will go for. I have thousands of dollars worth of collectibles still boxed that I could easily liquidate for this guy.... I just wish one day Hot Toys would divulge production numbers. They've only done so a few times, like with Avengers movie promo MKVI Iron Man. If not on any new items, at least some old stuff they won't revisit just to gauge on how "rare" these things might actually be.

If life circumstances are that bad that 80$ are gonna make it or break it, perhaps even thinking about spending 900$ for this figure shouldn't be in your priority list, period....just sayin...

Only people who are bothered by NRDs are just people who like the option of canceling after they think things through...impulse buyers with buyers remorse....which sort of screws others who really want te figure and the retailers who get stuck wth overstock.

Bingo, and people who 90 percent of the time cancel anway, to me nerd should apply to everything

More concerned about where and how to display. This would be my most expensive HT figure. I originally was going to have it standing on top of my detolf but maybe not. To display behind glass nor not is my question. How am I gonna display this?

Anyone got any display plans for this? I Need some ideas or furniture options. Thanks in advance!

This is always a concern with our hobby! What comes out next, how to expand our displays, what to add etc.

I've struggled with stuff coming out and how to display it and honestly it changes month to month.

This is one reason I invested in the Ikea Billy cases. They are adjustable and great for 1:6 figure. Unfortunately they discontinued the 15" deep one, but I managed to snag one and that houses my HT Marvel figs now. I have a mock up that I have things to full size and for now have plans to put it in my IM armor shelf.

I've measured and 21" does fit, but if he doesn't, I may put him solo where my Koto Spidey is - but would rather keep him in the case since that is my MCU display. (Still waiting on the K.A. shield and trying to decide if I want to get the Mk VII bust still due to the QC issues)

Would be interested in hearing/seeing how others plan to display him.

I think its more that by the time it is finally released someone who has ordered it may not have the like $800 + to pay for the rest of it and then they are out the 80 bucks too. A lot can happen in a year, new baby, loss of a job etc. Not totally unreasonable.

Im not even sure why SS and HT put up preorders so far in advance. Personally i think they should set edition sizes like ss used to and put pre orders up 3-4 months before it is released.

I think you guys should think long and hard about what $900+ shipped can go toward. The other (non-collectible) things you can buy. The trips you can take. Seriously. Think it over. :lol

And you couldn't say that about almost every single thing on the planet that's not food and water? Seriously, why bother telling someone else how to spend their money.

A trip. Sure. A week(tops) where you see things and buy things. Spend more money. Then go home and stare at your completly empty house because you don't buy stuff becuase you could use that for your next trip.

Some people can take those trips, buy all that stuff and this. Others may have done all the travel they ever wanted. Some may prefer this to some holiday inn and trees.

Yes it's a fair bit of money. But it's our/their money to spend. The movie is gonna cost 20 bucks a person for 2 hrs of time. If this thing lasts 1 year it will have cost pennies a day in comparison. IN the 9 months I'll be paying flex my gasoline charges per month will be higher then this things payments. My cell phone twice as much. my cable/internet 3 times. My water bill about the same. And I'll actually have something solid and tangible when it's paid for, as opposed to those others.

A lot can also happen in 3-4 months. They do it so people can buy more of their product. Sideshow has a 9 month payment plan for this. That opens up the customer base to many many more people. You do short PO windows when you are 100% confident the product will sell out. Because after it releases its gonna drop in price substantially if it doesn't and then the retail network will stop ordering or carrying your product.

...The less made, the faster it would sell out, the more I didn't want to take the chance...
Have to say that worked like a charm with me on ACI's unexpectedly small run of Ringwraith figures. Estimated run was supposed to be 2400 and that was chopped down to 800 (with 100 exclusives). I went from considering getting 1 to getting 2 exclusives and a regular. Definitely did light a fire under me to make a decision and buy now.

At the same time, I can see why SSC and HT stopped doing edition sizes. They really need to maximize the runs to make it worthwhile to do more and more complex figures. Just kinda sucks for collectors because there is generally way too much available after-market (not that I buy to sell or flip, but it's nice not to take a loss).

Assuming its still available for pre-order in a few months, it will at least be eligible for the $20 coupon right?
It'll definitely go coupon eligible.

That's how I tend to look at it, too. When you break down how much one spends on intangibles and consumables like going out for dinner or take-out, the price of say Hulkbuster is not that bad, so long as one budgets and doesn't let spending in any one place get out of hand.

No way.

Look at their other big ticket items. Whiplash Mark II is still available for preorder. The Deloreon is still on preorder. The Bat is still on preorder. Things like the Armory Batman value 3 pack, Robo w/ chair and Igor are still available.

I promise you that by April 2016, this will still have "preorder" status. It's not going anywhere. Like I posted before, there's no incentive to preorder this thing today, this month, or even this year.

good point. This is one I will be waiting til in hand pics come up. If HT product had a ES, their stuff would be more desirable to me.

Also, what if you just plain don't like the final product once its released? :dunno
Don't preorder until in-hand pics arrive? You're compensating the company for the trouble of bringing it in and in exchange you're not on the hook and no longer committed to buy. Seems fair to me.

Mossberg MMR Tactical.....:lol
Hadn't even thought of guns but yes I could see 'buster being fun to shoot, haha.

I'm FURIOUS about how high the price is and that probably EVERYONE selling this from Brick and Mortar to wanna be Wholesalers are gonna want a deposit for this. Do they really exspect people to buy this?? I mean REALLY?? ...........ummm what am I saying, i HAVE to... because the first 2 dozen or so Ironmen i got would've been all for nothing. Take my Deposit SSC you filthy, stinking crooks! :)

Animarket may be good for those outside the US. I try to stick in 48 if possible. But I like that there's starting to be some competitive pricing.

It's $779.99 US at Toy Square. They're a trustworthy store located in Toronto so you guys can consider buying from them. I already placed my preorder at sideshow.
