Anyone know what happened to the 75" (1 wide, 3 high) doors? I was thinking of getting a solid door and cutting the middle out, but the tallest I can find are the 50" doors.

I know a couple of you guys adviced against it but had some spare time today and went ahead and merged my two bestas,

Really happy with the result actually, due to mainly viewing my collection on a angle it really makes a difference, apologies for the poor pic, will be getting new cool white lights this weekend and then il post a update

That's a great mod. :clap

Definitely interested in your how-to explanation.

Vara...I think. Solid doors for Bestas, which I saw in Bmutha's collection thread. He had great success with cutting out the middle and screwing on a piece of plexiglass. Was going to attempt the same on a Stuva frame.

Where are you in the Midwest? I have a 3 high door that I bought by mistake last year and never made it back to Ikea to return it. I think it was a Vassbo though but the same concept of cutting out the middle portions should work.

That would be sweet! My only concern is with the Vassbo's thick border. Cutting the middle out, in a way that wouldn't compromise the overall integrity, may leave too thick of a border?

Hey, can anybody provide inhand pics of the Glassvik-doors? You know, those with a thick border :/

I really dont know if I like them

I'm looking at getting a Besta cabinet to display my PF statues in. Is there any reason to go with the wide cabinet over the tall? Are these stack-able?

These are the ones that I'm looking at:
BESTÅ Shelf unit - white - IKEA
BESTÅ Shelf unit/height extension unit - white - IKEA

With either of these doors:
BESTÅ GLASSVIK Glass door - black/clear glass - IKEA
BESTÅ VASSBO Glass door - white, 23 5/8x25 1/4 " - IKEA

Though the first link (for doors), with the glass edge, seems to always be out of stock at my local Ikea.

The extension unit can be placed on top of or below the tall I it's for extra height. Or mounted in their own if you have something else below or able them.

Normally you'd start with a tall unit if it's going to sit on the floor. Maybe two of them side by side if you want more space.

"On the floor" isn't stacking by definition. :) if you mean to ask if you can put multiple on top of each other, then yes, you can. Just make sure to attach/anchor every unit to the wall.

I've posted a few pictures of mine if it's of any help. Just click back a few pages...

If you go many pages back, you can see my WIP w/ the extensions and 1x3s...

Trying to plan/figure out what would be best with my collection. My biggest concerns are everything I have is 1/6 scale, and I have two tumblers, the 89 batmobile, the iron man gantry, ED209, Iron Monger and the set of 7 Hall of armor and I'd like to get them all behind glass if possible. What recommendations would you besta experts have as for what to get?

You just need to work out how many cubes you need for your collection and how they best fit in your display room.
Might be worth waiting, until April, to see what the new range of doors are. Unless you can find a store with Glassvik still in stock.

DWs mod, above, is the best solution to get your Tumbler & Batmobile housed.
