Been doing LG IF also for the last couple of years. Its weird but I have more energy in the mornings, if I eat breakfast I feel sluggish- can't go back

Same. I don't eat until 2pm. I don't feel hungry before and my BCAA's get me through, easy. And I only need to worry about 600 calories 3x a week. Which is also fine because...do you know how many veggies you can squeeze in to 600 calories? You can eat so much you will burst open. The other 4 days I don't have to watch my calories at all.

I do however not notice a difference from doing regular IF and IF/MADF so slowly transitioning back to standard IF. Sticking to my 19-5.

What kind of training are you doing buff? Are you working any type of progressive overload so you're getting stronger?

I just do high intensity interval training. It's my jam and boy has it helped. I also straight up jump rope every day between 10-25 min, depending on how I'm feeling. Some days 10, some days more. For me, the important thing is to look cut, and of course be healthy.

got some exercise in....gosh where all the time go now a days

You know, when I thought I had to go back to work (after not having to for 7+ years) I was worried about not feeling up to working out before work, or after a long day. I'm glad that I started my own company instead because I have the freedom to do my workouts and not worry. I honestly am the type of person who would completely slack. It does suck for others who go to work daily and are just tired. Cause it's normal and natural to be.

oh working out is ez. its the long commute and basically do nuttin at work that is worrisome. not complaining but he's gonna bring in a simple weight to work on his shoulder. guess he can read some comics and watch youtube music video and do some push-up in the meantime. but its the snow that is the major drag.

Ski

Ok. I've finally decide to try to get back in shape and to lose the gut! After reading it on here and a bit a research I've started a lose IF program 8/16 and training M/W/F T25 type program T/Th Treadmill and light weights (need to start slow). Saturday/Sunday still in the IF mode and light workouts, but not as strict on the diet. (at least this is were I'm starting)

We started Monday... today... I'M STARVING! :lol But feel pretty good.

Any pointers? I'm embarrassed to say this but I'm almost 40 have been plagued with hernias (had multiple surgeries).

No help on the hernia issue but when starting out the thing to remember is consistency... Skipping a day turns into skipping two which will turn into five, then before you know it almost a year has gone by... Ask me how I know...

I got back in the gym a couple months ago after 10 months of falling off the wagon.. The gains I made last year have come back quick.. And I'm feeling and looking better already...

I'm doing a simple 3X5 progressive overload routing with drop sets after those sets are completed... Real easy to track strength gains and I'm only there for about an hour every other day...

Keep on with it dood! And read everything you can... :hi5:

Walking up the stairs to my apartment is a big enough workout for me these days lol. Honestly, it really doesn't take long to lose your fitness when you stop working out for just a short time.

It took me a long time to find a protocol that worked for me. I'm now on 19-5 and it's my favorite. I break my fast at 2pm and I stop eating by 7pm. Usually it's 6:30 but you know.

I have a mug of black coffee every morning before my workout. I'm careful to find either 0 calorie coffee or something with less than 2 calories per cup. I also drink BCAA's before and after my workout so I don't lose muscle mass since I like to cut. Losing the gut is very important and you won't do it otherwise. So doing IF is the best way. You just need to make sure you stay 100% fasted during your fasted window. BCAA's truly get me through. Calorie free BCAA's, let's be clear.

I drink BSN Animo X during my fasted hours.

I workout right after I'm finished my morning 'routine.' I work out between 25-30 minutes every day. I jump rope every day. My workouts consist of HiiT exercises to really boost my fat burn.

When I first started this, I wanted to do lean gains. Lately, I've decided I want to be more shredded so that's why I have changed my protocol and have done a few other things (workout wise) to maximize fat loss and muscle gain.

You will get over feeling hungry. Your brain is engrained with this idea that you NEED food. Once you get over that, you'll see that food becomes a secondary thought during your fasted hours. You won't be hungry and you will be able to just focus on what you need to focus on. Work, life, etc.

EDIT: I went from ADF to MADF (alternate day fasting/modified alternate day fasting) to the protocol I'm on now. I couldn't stay focused enough to skip an entire day of meals and on MADF, my body doesn't have an off switch so I couldn't stop at 500 calories. I just kept looking for food to binge. Which is why 19-5 works for me. I only have a 5 hour eating window. I can fit a lot of food in in such a small window that I feel full. I eat 2 big meals and I have one fruit snack in between the two. The 16-8 protocol left me too many feeding hours and I was just still too hungry.

Finally got time to get back into fitness properly instead of limping along trying to squeeze short sessions in. Doing powerlifting and cardio mainly to get some mass back whilst limiting fat gain/hoping to lose fat. Be mean and eat lean.

Today's workout begins with the letter F. Yes, for a swear word. Yes, that one.

I'm going to finish my coffee and kick my own butt with some stuff that's going to make me lay down and probably die.
