Man that's amazing. Wish there were castings of that or something. Urgh I wish I had talent like that.

May I suggest possibly an "underground" kit of some of these likenesses when the bodies finally appear?

The idea with these bodies was that they could possibly fill that small niche of figures that show a lot of skin. It's true that because of that we've sacrificed some articulation especially on the otaku. I'm definitely planning on using them for a couple of the figures mention, talon, secura, sing and of course padme. Of course they will all be custom figures. Triad wouldn't be able to sell them because of licensing. These bodies will be sold loose with the idea of customizing in mind so it's great to hear that you guys are already planning to put them to good use.
Anyways I started this thread because SS is releasing there padme soon and so that's got me rethinking the work that I've done on mine. I'm not entirely satisfied with the work I've done but I don't know what else to do to it. What do you guys think?

Dude, that ****in' rocks:rock :rock :rock

I hope Sideshow does one as good as that!! And the likeness is perfect:bow

Callous, thanks for the update. I'm planning on ordering some Otakus, and have been checking the site Triad often. (Five weeks to go in Q1 2008, Louie-dawg.) I will also order EVAs and the male EVOs if and when they ever see the light of day -- but they were first shown two years ago, am I right?

I'd like to hear more about the Alpha -- where does it fall on the visual vs poseablility scale? I know the Otaku is "prettier" (no cut at mid-torso) but less poseable than the EVA. But I've never even seen a photo of an Alpha.

Will there be male Otakus or Alphas?

BTW, I love the Portman portrait and your Sam Jackson sculpt for the male EVO was pretty fantastic too:

Your work is astounding Callous. I seriously hope you offer some of those head casts for sale.

Will the Eva and EVO bodies have neck stems that will be compatible with any major line?

How do people think that Sideshow's Sam Jackson is any good, esp after seeing this?

Callous, I think you've got the eyes, nose, mouth and features all correct, but the overall head is a bit elongated. Natalie has a fuller, rounder portrait. Here's a shot of her from V and the bare SSC sculpt.

I agree with ya Maulfan, her head is too oval.

Off topic, but Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson are in a new movie together. The 2 hotest chicks right now in the same flick :monkey5:monkey5:monkey5

Keeping off topic a moment, indeed, and to be Eric Bana having them both fight to be with him, we can dream right haha.

Sideshow's SLJ would look nicer like that if the eyes were that pure a white from the factory, but they're a more muted tone so the effect is somewhat lost.

Nah. I've seen some incredible repaints of the SS Mace, but not even the best of those looked like SLJ the way the Triad one does. The SS figure captures the essence of the character, but the sculpt is WAY off (no thanks to the modifications requested by LF, no doubt). I'll agree that Andy's original sculpt was much better, though.

I think you got it right Maulfan. The cheek bones, rear portion of the jaw, and cranium needs to be just a bit wider. But the most difficult parts to sculpt, the eyes and mouth are perfect. With the nose, I think only the bridge of the nose needs to be a bit wider and all the main features will be perfect. I'd cut off the ears and widen the rest of the skull (excluding the face) and put the ears back on.

However, the photos might be distorting the image a little and elongating it so it might not need to be changed.

Light a fire under Shane and Louie and get those bodies out ASAP! They're very much needed in the 1:6 world and I hope they make enough to suit demand.

And I second the demand for the Sam Jackson head sculpt, I really want to replace Sideshow's head , F'n Lucasfilm.

I considered image distortion before speaking up, but even in the zoomed out, full figure shots, the elongation is present.

This figure too.

I've seen Portman in the overall features since it's debut around here, but the whole head never felt like her.

Natalie has that youthful, round, girl next door type face.

In the sculpt in the second image her nose actually looks wide enough.
But I'm seeing another problem, if Callous makes the new head sculpt a bit wider, it may make the entire head a little on the large side, so he may need to reduce it's overall size a little. I'm not sure if he'd be that picky about that sort of thing though. I do however think that the head sculpt shown at A Weekend of Heroes (the second image above) looks perfect.

Yeah, I agree on it being to long. The likeness is there, but it would be even better if it was more rounded.

Anyone have a pic of Andy's original Sam Jackson? I remember seeing it a couple years ago.
