You know what sucks is I wanted to make a custom freeway chase Rodgers but what I noticed is the jacket he wore was different then this one from the set. It had two collars and buttons :gah:

I don't know if I can find a matching 1/6 jacket like that one. It's too bad because I found the right khakis, blue shirt and possible sneakers

Where did you find the Khakis and Shoes at? I am interested in making one as well.

Those are some of the best pics I have seen of this figure Kanine..... very nicely done :clap

Wow good find. :clap

That is kind of an ironic thing to say after showing these pictures that proves the bodies on the protos were better.

Well, I don't know if that is irony. I think the prototype looks better but still like this one - the difference is not big enough that I would modify it.

I've got about 16 Hot Toys figures now and I can't pick a single one and say it's perfect - and most of theme differ pretty significantly from the prototypes. I still love them, though.

Yeah, great shots, Kanine. I'm always amazed at how many complaints there are towards lack of articulation on figures, yet the majority of people seem to have them in a museum pose, anyway. Maybe it's the whole, "rather have a gun and not need it, than need a gun and not have it" mentality? In any event, it's nice to see Cap doing what he does best!

I was on the fence about picking up the STRIKE version. I had always planned to, as I never saw anything wrong with it, but once the production figure hit, and so many others started pointing out its "deficiencies", I started to beleive it, I guess. Your pics definitely pushed me back towards the positive side, though.

Nice pics. I'm still not going to even try cutting the fatsuit as I'm scared to wreck my figure. When it comes I'll just be happy to pose it however I can. I love the strike suit so even though the figure may not be perfect, I like it enough and that's the bottom line for me at the end of the day

If I mod it at all I'll try DA's rubber band method.

A question for anyone that's used Paypal through SSC, I was under the impression the money was transferred now rather than later? If they don't take the money til it ships like the usual method I'd better withdraw and save it.

Sorry I disagree, IMO the difference between the proto and this is night and day, you said it yourself that they used either a MOS or TTM20 body for the proto than the one they used for the product. Using a bigger body with a better shape does not slightly change the look of the figure but DRAMATICALLY IMPROVES THE LOOK as it makes the figure go from looking rather skinny to looking big. The bottom line is this looks almost the opposite to how the proto looked, with the flat chest as opposed to huge pecs the proto has and the rectangular shape torso caused by the fat suit as opposed to the V shape torso the proto has. I honestly don't get how you or anyone can think this figure looks even close to the proto? If it wasn't for the head sculpt, I would think the figure was made by a different company.

Once again I disagree, the good thing about Hot Toys is that unlike most companies their products look almost identical to their final products, maybe things like tailoring and head sculpts might be slightly off but the figure overall looks close to the proto. The CAP WS figure is the first time I have seen a Hot Toys product differ so much from the proto.

If you just want to put it in a museum pose, then I don't see the need to cut the fat suit as the articulation is good enough for that. However, you will need to cut the fat suit if you want to do dynamic poses with the figure.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you have to cut the fatsuit to remove it, right?

Yes you do.

If I mod it at all I'll try DA's rubber band method.

At least that mod is reversible, but just want to confirm that it doesn't help with articulation, it is merely to make the figure look bigger with a better V shape.

I didn't realize that, thanks DA. So, has anyone attempted to remove the fat suit to get the articulation back, then try to rebulk the torso without hindering it again? Maybe a two seperate wraps of gauze around the abs and chest so the suit isn't as loose fitting?

Speaking of prototypes I have to say the MOS final product was a big improvement over the prototype. The Loki headsculpt was improved too. The Stealth Cap is one of the first that was changed for the worst, I think.

And DA, I'm a museum pose guy so articulation doesn't matter much to me. As long as it gives him the V shape I'm okay with it.

No worries man, glad I could help. :wink1:

Yeah and this was deliberate on Hot Toys part, other reasons for changes are due to things that can not be helped like proto sculpts undergoing changes during the conversion process of resin to PVC for mass production.

And DA, I'm a museum pose guy so articulation doesn't matter much to me.

Yeah me either but a lot of people do care about it and my mod probably restricts the ab crunch to some extent.

As long as it gives him the V shape I'm okay with it.

It is probably the closest you can get to the V shape without making him smaller by reducing his waist. Nevertheless, still not a perfect V shape like the proto but close IMO.

Fantastic shots Kanine as a fellow collector that likes to think out of the box in putting their HT in different poses as well,
I love the creativity and I salute you! :hi5:
