Should I buy this or wait for mark 43??

Depends, do you prefer red or gold?

Beyond that, looking at the pictures, the Mk 43 looks like it has some slight refinements from the photos HT released - more neck movement, some additional moving plates at the hips and a newer face sculpt for the opening helmet and of course a diorama base. Unlike the Mk 42 however, it doesn't come with any swappable battle damaged parts, has a uniformly weathered paintjob and will cost more. Really I'd say it's a matter of what you want more: a predominantly red suit that's permanently moderately weathered and comes with a diorama base, or a predominantly gold suit that can be displayed clean or battle damaged and comes with a hall of armour base.

There will always be more red iron man suits. This gold armor is unique and will stand out. There are at least 4-5 new red armors coming (mk43, mk45, civil war mk, infinity war mks) not to mention the diecast mk 1-7 if all are made (mk3 is already on PO).

Good point :duff

My marks 43 must return has damage to the right rear of his foot. the color is gray instead of gold -.-

I'm liking the mark 42, I just don't like how if was represented in Iron Man 3. It seemed like a joke. I know it was a prototype, but it looks cool and never seemed to work right.

That's part of what I DO like about the 42. It represents an important step in Stark's tech and adds some humility to Tony's story. If you go back and watch the film, this suit actually does some pretty cool things.

I get your point to a degree about humility. I don't mind seeing a hiccup in the works of a man who can basically design and build anything, but the delivery of the idea is what I didn't like. They made the suit too comical to take seriously.

That was one of the big reasons why I couldn't pull the trigger on this fig. I wasn't a big fan of the design from the beginning, and it took a long time to grow on me. After all of this time I'm just starting to dig it. The shoulder issues also played a big factor in keeping me away.

But lately I keep coming in this thread and I'm starting to think I should pull the trigger before it's too late...

Is there any word out on what the big difference will be with the Battle Damaged 42 yet? It seems like there has to be something more than just adding the batter pack that's already available to the existing fig. A Pepper helmeted sculpt maybe?

To my knowledge, there is no BD 42 in the works. The old promo SSC posted was a mistake.
And it sounds like you might want to think about going for the Mark 43 instead of this one.

Yep. That's what I was talking about. That's just the regular 42 with switch out BD parts, holding the battery from the released accessory set (whatever it was called). That pic was a promo pic for the said set.

Right, but you mentioned it was a mistake and a set isn't in the works. If that's the case, why do they still have this link up for all this time on their site?

I've been pretty detached from the forum since the beginning of December and I'm just catching up with everything now. I didn't bother to see what the talk is in that dedicated thread yet, but I'd imagine if they have the link for that teaser up for over 2 months, then a set is in the works.

You'd have to ask SSC that.
Either way, it's not on Hot Toys release schedule for 2015.
