Not to my recollection, but I do believe they had one or two Black Friday week.

Nothing last year for Black Friday (like spook), but 12 Days of Christmas was a nice event, like Spook but longer and Christmas themed. I hope they do it again this year.

It always takes a few people to ruin everyone's day. But, it's strange how SSF has never experienced this sort of problem before until now. Makes me wonder if the harassing calls to SSC were deliberate trolling from some people who got banned...

It always takes a few people to ruin everyone's day. But, it's strange how SSF has never experienced this sort of problem before until now. Makes me wonder if the harassing calls to SSC were deliberate trolling from some people who got banned...

According to SS, there were multiple calls, so it I'm sure even if some of them were prank, some had to be from legitimately clueless cretins.

THIS is an important statement. Post count tells the story.

If you not joking you are diluted. Post count has nothing to do with the quality of a members contributions.

I have found just the opposite, people with high post counts usually contribute more noise to a forum then anything else.


I have never understood the obsession with post counts anyway. I can't image someone thinking there is something special abut the number if times a member posts to a forum.

SSC did not give out as many codes for Xmas as they did for last years Spooktacular. I remember this because of all the whining about not getting enough codes during the 12 days of Xmas.
I really doubt there will be any for this years 12/Xmas.

I really hope that the codes come back, but I'd think SSC would rather not deal with the whining anymore. And it's so appalling that their customer service people were being cursed out, too. It's things like that which make me ashamed to call myself a collector.

We have no idea what SSC is going to do, it's all up in the air right now until December for their next event...

My post was a response to the statement: the people with the least investment (which could be measured by post count) feel the most entitled.

I never said anything about the quality of either.

Post count tells you nothing. Here I may be a noob but on other forums I've been a member for years with thousands of posts and even a moderator. A high post count doesn't mean you're any more an adult than someone with less. It just means you talk a lot. lol

Somehow the people negating the post seem to be approaching the statement in terms of quality of contribution. I don't think Yankee or myself said anything about that. I have a lot of posts, but I've also been here 8 years soon to be 9... but I'm certain my posts have nothing to do with quality.

The point was -- the irony that the people with the least contribution/investment in the thread/forum (for better or for worse) also seem to be the ones complaining the most about too many posts getting in their way or siding with the idea that they can't be bothered with silly posts or jokes or the banter many of us were having here.
