Three years ago, comic-con. I was telling the hasbro guys that if they made a new 12" line based on the original cartoon characters, they'd make a fortune. They weren't really on board. If you recall, they had a 12" Bazooka coming out and it was cancelled.

I said "welll... what if you made it good? like sell it for more?"

Again, they didn't see my vision.

Fast forward to 2007 and 25th anniversary joes are selling like hot cakes and sideshow gets the license for more real american hero.

I think it's time I start cancelling some Star Wars and other lines because G.I.JOE is all I really needed to collect all this time. It took them long enough!

COOOBRRAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!

No no. It's Cobralalalalalala!

THIS I COMMAND!

Yes, I love G.I.JOE...if they make a Dr. Mindbender, Serpentor, Destro, Cobra Commander, (either the shell face or cloth mask), Sargent Slaughter (not the crappy WWE guy), Duke, Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow, the Baroness or the androids...PFs of any of those.. I'll shat myself!

Oh, Cobra Commander is actually Starscream in disguise.

Alright, since the cat's now out of the bag...

1) Classic RAH license

2) First 2 (unless this has changed): Cobra Commander, Snake Eyes

3) Expect awesomeness, especially in accessories and detailing of weapons.

This has been a done deal and the figures in the works for a while now, so I'd expect to see something tangible unveiled officially soon (Toy Fair is no doubt an obvious bet).

Clearly, Hasbro has a ton of respect for Sideshow and what they bring to the 1:6 arena. This is the third partnership they've had (SW, Indy, and now G.I. Joe) but perhaps the most telling since this is actually one of Hasbro's own IPs.

Collector Freak -- I like having you here. :)

For me, this won't necessarily be a fun line to collect (since LOTR and SW rule, nyah nyah), but it will be tons of fun to watch others collect and moan and gripe about.

Just imagine -- joint reviews by p!tu and Shai. Will be gold. Will be utter gold...

This could be a cool line, just please get rid of the crappy buck body for these. thanks.

This could be the line to kick off new bodies.

I wonder if these are going to be sold in stores as well? But if SS isn't going to Toy Fair, prolly not.

Part of the deal (similar to SW & Indy) is that Hasbro will continue to control the mass-market retail part of the license while Sideshow will focus on direct-market collectibles consumers, with more high-end and limited edition 1:6 figures in the $50-75 range.

Hasbro wants no part of that (limited run, highly-detailed items that are priced out of the Wal-Mart/Target range). So they are more than happy to let Sideshow step in and pick up the ball.

This is great news, hopefully they will have production runs of more than 1982 because I don't want to jump through hoops to get these figures.
As a life long fan of G.I.Joe I believe it is my right as an American and a child of the 80's to own and enjoy each and everyone of these figures, from Snake Eyes and Destro to Lifeline and Doc.
It is our civic duty, as Americans, to buy and cherish this line. This is rare opportunity and we must realize that.

My only question is if this line will be based off the cartoon were the main characters were Duke, Flint and Sgt. Slaughter or the comics were the main characters are Snake Eyes, Scarlet, Storm Shadow and the all encompassing story of the fall of the Arashikage clan. Hopefully it is a mix of both, I just don't want to read Scarlet's write up and it says she is romantically linked to Duke not Snake Eyes.

Yo Joe!!!

thats what I wanted to hear....classic RAH...hopefully they make as many as these as their doing Starwars...I am just afraid it will take forever for characters to get announced and get made

just wait till I start my Krusade to have a Zartan made....:monkey3

There is no doubt that a Zartan, Master of Disguise, figure will be made and since these will be adult collectibles he will still be a Paranoid Schizophrenic.
The only question I have is will they make his infamous Dreadnoks? It would be a crime if they didn't. I would kill for a Zarana and a Road Pig.

Also, Zartan has to change colors in the sun, that is a top priority.
