If any male figure needs real hair, it's Aragorn. We've seen what sculpted hair looks like with Sideshow and Asmus - it's good to have the alternative.

Hey guys - just a couple of quick comments...
The bottom lip looks like he uses dip (tobacco) but it's the sculpted beard just under the lip, which on Viggo is full already without the beard. It's just hard to see in the flesh cast.
Second, some of you have rightfully made issue with the price. The retail in Hong Kong is actually just shy of $200. So there is some significant markup for some places in the US selling this so far but ACI is not listing these at close to $300...

The $300 is a bit jarring. Not sure why US distributors have gotten so greedy on this one. I'll just have to competitive shop but will likely end up with my go-to BBTS at $284 or so. Just been waiting for the reveal from the other company. Anyway I think at this point it's time to put the crits to bed and accept this is a done deal. And what a done deal it is. From the photos definitely looks to be one of the best head sculpts yet.
I'd still like to get some definitive word on the extend of ACI's LotR license. Will there be a Gandalf, Legolas, Arwen, Gimli, etc?

Not saying CREG is not correct, but if the retail in HK is $200. . . why are eBay sellers in Hong Kong selling it for $250-$270, just like the US sellers are? I can't find anyone selling it for $200.

Just shy of two hundred would be the sweet spot for this figure I think. Hopefully sales are sluggish at $300 so they lower the price to a more reasonable $229.99 or something like that.

That's what I'm saying. This idea that US sellers are being greedy, or that they are putting significant markup, on this figure is just not true. There is no more markup on this figure than there is any other figure. ACI needs to get a new distributor that can get these shipped worldwide without adding significant cost to US retailers.

Bryan at ACI commented on this over at OSW, and he pretty much feels that rooted hair is the future and the way to go with any character who has longer hair, so rooted is the way they are going with this figure. I agree with him.
